UncategorizedSoftening up a Dark Leather Chair July 23, 2013 Many of us have a big, dark leather chair that takes up a lot of visual space in our living rooms. Chris fell in love with this big worn dark leather chair at a thrift store back in the spring. He had been wanting a recliner to relax in and we couldn’t seem to agree on one. A big puffy recliner wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. When we found this, he thought it was comfortable and I thought I could soften it up enough to fit in our living room. And I’ll admit, it’s probably the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in, so I was more than willing to give it a try. Yesterday’s ottoman was the first step toward softening up this big dark leather chair. Then I threw an IKEA sheepskin over the back… …and added a woven pillow… …and we were all done. Traditional dark leather chair softened up. Much better. Adding some color and texture made this a whole new chair.
