Faith & FamilyOur Story Part I: The Foundation March 13, 2017 I’ve been so excited to kick this series off with y’all! As I said in my New Year’s post, I’ve become really aware that I’ve never shared our story here. I believe that stories are so important! It’s been so powerful to really look back at ours and see God’s hand constantly at work. Our story and the adventure God’s placed us on are the motivation for every decision we make and for so much of what you guys see here on the blog! In community groups at our church, one key event is everyone sharing their life story. It’s so important to see where everyone came from, to celebrate the work God’s done with each other, and to also learn from each other’s journey. It feels like the right time to break down our story for y’all and share ore about who we are and why we do what we do. In this series, I’ll be sharing a new video each Monday where I tell a part of our story. Throughout this, you’re going to hear details about why we renovate, our debt journey, the blog developing, our family growing, the list goes on and on. All of those pieces are so interwoven for us. Sharing some of these details in such a public way can be scary, but so many other families’ stories helped shape ours, so I hope that hearing ours can send some of you on your own radical and amazing journeys! And sharing it celebrates the impossible and unbelievable work we’ve seen God do. Just filming these for you guys and reminiscing over what’s happened blows my mind and spurs me on so much in our journey! If you didn’t watch the New Year’s video, check it out first because it’s a really great introduction to this series and what you can expect from it as a whole. I really considered waiting to film these until after the baby comes…you’ll see I’m about to pop in this! We should be meeting him in three or four weeks…ish. Crazy! But, so much is happening over here, y’all, and now’s the time to launch into it! Okay, y’all, let’s get started! Thanks so much for tuning into Our Story Part I: The Foundation! I loved sharing this and can’t wait until next Monday to share the next piece of the journey. If you have any questions, please e-mail me or comment below depending on what you’re comfortable with! I want to use our trials and story to help others in any way I can. So many did that for us. Thanks for listening, y’all, and for being such a support system for us!

Lindsay says March 14, 2017 at 7:34 pm OH Sandie, you made my day! Thank you so much for saying that! It’s always hard to share really personal stories, but I think it’s so important. Even though all of our stories are so different, there’s so much to learn from each other and be encouraged by each other ๐ Reply
Val says March 15, 2017 at 1:22 pm Oh my gosh Lindsay! I can already tell this series is going to be so good! The debt thing is so hard. My husband and I have so much debt as well. It really feels like we’ll always be stuck and struggling. It’s caused so much tension in our relationship also. It’s so hard to celebrate life on a regular basis when you are always depressed about finances. This definitely gives me hope that God has not forgotten about me or my family and that He still has a plan for us. Thank you for letting us adventure with your family and for being so open. You are definitely an inspiration. Reply
Lindsay says March 19, 2017 at 8:50 am Oh Val, reading your comment today just pierced my heart because we have been there! So much of our marriage and life together, we have been there. That’s why I wanted to share our story….God has written a story and sent us on a radical adventure that just blows our mind every time I think about it. It’s nothing we could’ve found or done for ourselves, He’s made that so clear! While what’s worked for us may not be the answer for everyone, seeing how God has played out our story just gives me such confidence that for those who are willing, He will do the exact same thing for them in His own way even if the means look a little different. Praying for you this morning and excited to share the rest of our story, see what God does with it, and then see how He moves in others stories!! Reply
