Happy Belated Thanksgiving

I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving filled with lots of food, love, and laughter with family.  I know that I did.

I was hoping to post much sooner, but really got caught up in the holiday with family.  I told my husband on Saturday that I realized I hadn’t checked my cell phone since we arrived at my parents’ home on Wednesday.  What a weird, but nice feeling!  So a computer was definitely out.

I had some fun Thanskgiving entertaining ideas I had hoped to share, but time with family took priority last week.  I do hope y’all can forgive me!

But now that I’m back to normal life and coming down off of the holiday, I wanted to share a little about our Thanksgiving.  My parents always host it at their home, but it was a little different this year.

For starters, this was the first year that our new family of six (with two new husbands) celebrated a holiday all together.

It was really amazing.  Our family feels finally complete.

It was also different because my parents have finished their garage into a “party room.”  They wanted a long table that could fit our entire gathering of sixteen instead of splitting the party into two tables in two separate rooms.

This is what they came up with…

I love the long table and the mis-matched chairs.

Here are some of my other favorites spots in their new “party room.”

{loved the fall table decor}

The new “party room” fits their beautiful rustic home so well.  It all belongs in Country Living!  And the history behind every detail is the coolest part.

But even more than the new “party room,” I loved getting together with all of our family.  I was reminded of why we have that holiday just by glancing down the table and seeing all of my loved ones gathered together.

It was wonderful to reflect on what we are thankful for and put everything into true perspective before moving into the Christmas season.

I hope you all had a wonderful, grateful day too.
