UncategorizedClient Project Inspiration: Cool Hollywood Hills June 18, 2014Don’t you love it when you come across a home that just speaks to you? Everything about it just jumps off the screen and beckons you to come live there. Well, while doing a recent client project, I found one of those homes for me. Back in May, I was contacted to help a family of five (not counting their fur babies) spruce up their living room. The vibe she was going for was Cool Hollywood Hills. To me, that meant kilim, mid-century, woods, a little Moroccan inspired vibe, and some black and white. While searching and sourcing, I came across this Hollywood Hills home featured on One Kings Lane that spoke to my soul. Yes, the entire floor is covered in layered kilims. I’m not even sure what to type after these photos, I love them so much. As soon as I saw this home, I knew a couple of things. And I was right. My client loved this home and all of the materials and words we’d been tossing around were all packaged up into this home. Layered kilim, white and black, mid-century, wood, eclectic pattern, eclectic pattern, eclectic pattern. So, I took this as inspiration and ran with it! My goal was not to recreate this exact home, but use it as inspiration for a room that would work for their family. For example, while I adore the layered kilims covering the floor (and my client did too), that isn’t practical for a living room where three small children and two dogs live. Tripping hazard, for sure! Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing the two mood board options I sent her inspired by this lovely home, but hopefully tweaked to fit my client’s needs. You can see the full tour of this gorgeous home here. *** I’m over at Makely Home today sharing how I created this tie-dye stripe pillow. With just a small variation on my fold and clamp tutorial, you can get this lovely tie-dye stripe print! Head on over to Makely Home for the full tutorial. I’m also over on DesignPost Interiors today for her Take Two. I love this series that Beth puts on. It’s so fun to get to know bloggers in a whole new way! Read that post here.
