UncategorizedFavorite Projects from 2013 December 30, 2013I hope you all had the merriest of Christmases! We are still going over here. We headed to New Jersey to visit Chris’ family last week, had our own Christmas at home over the weekend, and came to my parents’ farm yesterday for our final Christmas. We’ll be here celebrating until New Year’s, but with the New Year coming, I wanted to drop in for a little looking back. This year has been huge: the most amazing and eventful I ever remember. I’ll be posting a full reflection on this year and the blog happenings tomorrow, but today, I wanted to focus in on my favorite projects. I’ve created my favorite projects of all this year. I know that has a lot to do with finally discovering my style and embracing it! My first favorite (and still one of my favorite projects ever) were these Accordion Sconces for our bedroom inspired by West Elm. Finishing up the master is pretty high up on the 2014 list and I can’t wait! Carrying on with the light fixture theme, I created this Paint Dipped Chandelier from a clearanced Home Goods floor lamp. And then, there was this bohemian ottoman that I created using rag rugs from Garden Ridge. I love the color and texture that it adds to the living room. Next up is the painted rug that you see in the living room photo above. Although this one was a bit time consuming, I love the impact. Last up on this fave project round-up are my two favorites, but also the two that have gotten the most response from all of you lovelies. In my recent Young House Love feature, the most talked about thing in our house was this Buffalo art in our dining room. This was probably the quickest and easiest project of any on this round-up and I really love it. And I’ve saved my absolute favorite for last. This project got more response on social media and the blog than probably any project I’ve ever done. Last up is our Live Edge Kitchen Island. I love having this workspace and the added punch of color and rustic makes this white kitchen very happy. I can’t wait to see what projects 2014 will hold! There are already some in the works and folks, I can tell you, it’s gonna be good.
