UncategorizedBringing in the Blue January 18, 2012Thanks for your comments and pictures, guys! I’m still deciding what to do with this mirror color-wise, but I’ve definitely decided to add in some of this color combo. Here it is again for a quick reminder… I wanted to try it out, so I pulled out some books that my grandma, Bobo, gave me. She was getting rid of several boxes of these vintage books (I posted about them here) and they’re almost all being put to use right now! I pulled out shades of blue, aqua/green, and tan and re-did our mantle with them to see how I liked the colors. I pulled in a little more green than the color palette photo above, but I think I like it. One of my favorite things about cold weather is curling up with a good book. So although books are pretty, this mantle is really symbolic of the season to me. And I’ve gotta say, I’m loving these colors in our home. I don’t know what this means for our mirror… It has dark shades of blue in it, but it is kind of hard to see in the picture. I really like the dimension and rustic feel of the finish as it is. I might dry-brush in a little midnight blue to add more dimension, who knows. I think I’m going to hang it and live with it for a few days before I alter it. But what I do know, is I’m loving that color palette as much as I thought I would from the Pinterest photo. I’ll let y’all know what I do with it. Thanks for hanging in here with me!
Kristina says January 18, 2012 at 11:27 am Those books are beautiful! What a sweet gift from your grandma. And in the last post I thought the mirror was pretty neutral, but in this post’s picture I see how dark it is. I really love it. What a good find! Hmm … I might head over to my new local Goodwill this afternoon. Reply
