UncategorizedTrend Spotting: Painted Trim April 8, 2015 {via} I’ve always been a white trim kind of girl. Lately that’s meant white walls with white trim, creating a bright monochromatic space. If you read my post on Monday, you know I’m opening up to more color on my walls and that includes the trim. For a while now, I’ve noticed much more painted trim in my Pinterest feed and in the design world. I love the white wall, painted trim look and you may see that show up somewhere in the new place. {via} But I especially love the monochromatic wall look. {via} I’m loving colored walls, colored trim, and colored windows. With dark colors, it creates such a moody and saturated space. {via} {via} {via} I love this space where even the bookshelves and fireplace are painted navy. {via} I love how white accessories and textures pop off of the dark monochromatic walls. And I love it done with lighter/brighter colors too. {via} I’m willing to bet that white walls will always be a part of my design plans, but some colored walls and painted trim will be making its way into this next design too. And speaking of the next project, we have a lead on a potential house! It sounds promising, but no guarantees yet. Fingers crossed!
Laura Irion // Avery Street Design says April 8, 2015 at 7:46 pm Oh man Lindsay, I love every last one of these pictures! I first spotted painted trim on this BBC show about a doctor a year or so ago, and his on-set office was very much like these photos- walls, doors, trim, moulding, fireplace, you name it, all the same color. LOVE. I ended up trying it in my son’s room and it looks soooo good. I can’t wait to see how it turns out in your place! Oh, and the white walls/ painted trim picture with the black trim…never seen that before and um, yeah, I need that right. now!!! 🙂 Reply
Corinna - For My Love Of says April 9, 2015 at 6:30 pm If I could pay someone to paint my trim, I would abso-freakin-lutely paint them that dark swanky black color. But I hate painting and have little time to paint. But it certainly won’t stop me from fantasizing! Reply
