UncategorizedDay 13: 31 Days of Finishing Rooms October 13, 2011Well, that shelf was so easy to make, but it’s been much harder to finish than I thought. I thought paint would be the easy part! We went to hang it tonight because the dry-brushed coat was dry. But it didn’t look so hot. I love the antiqued/dry-brush effect, but on this white shelf, it just didn’t look great. So, we added just a solid coat of white spray paint and it should (fingers crossed) be ready to hang tomorrow. But today, I made a quick trip to TJ Maxx and found a rug that I brought home for our entryway. I’m still deciding on it and want you guys’ advice. It’s the colors of our living room…remember the inspiration pillow? I knew I wanted something semi-patterned since our big living room rug is plain jute. Here is the new rug up close. It’s Country Living brand, which might have drawn me to it initially 🙂 I love the coziness of it. I had pictured something bigger for this area, so I’m trying to decide if this is enough. What do you guys think? Do I need a bigger one? Does this one fit the room okay? You know I’m still deciding when I leave the tags on for pictures…

Linda @MyCraftyHomeLIfe says October 13, 2011 at 9:45 pm I love Kristina’s idea. In fact, I was thinking about that myself. I did a post on it http://mycraftyhomelife.blogspot.com/2011/08/wisteria-with-twist.html The one you picked just seems a little bit too small. No worries, maybe it is the only thing that keeps your room from being “perfect”. Reply
