Faith & FamilyThe White Buffalo Story Part III March 28, 2017Hey y’all! I’m back for the third installment of the Our Story series! We’ve been so busy getting ready for this new baby (due any day now!) that I know I’m a day late getting it up. So sorry about that, friends! But here it is. I filmed this video yesterday and y’all will see how close this baby is by the giant baby belly…39 weeks and counting. It is so hard to believe! We’re nesting like crazy around here and are trying to check off that to-do list to make for a slower time when baby does arrive. In this video, I’m breaking down the renovation of our Downtown Cottage and the development of White Buffalo as y’all know it! It’s so fun re-living and going back through all the progress we’ve made and all that God has done in our story. If you missed the first two parts of our story, make sure you check those out by clicking below first! Last week, we left off with God providing The Downtown Cottage in the craziest way! This week, I’m talking about the renovation process of that cottage and how God kept working and moving as our family developed! I talked about several things in this video that I would link to for you guys. First up, is our miscarriage story. That was one of the hardest things we’ve gone through as a family. I just barely touched on it in the video since I’ve written a full post about it and that story could take forever to tell. But it’s a beautiful, tough story that has really defined so much about us! You can read about it here. I also talked a lot in this video about our last house, The Downtown Cottage. This was a special one for many reasons, y’all. Rosie was born there, but it also was the first large-scale reno we’d done. It taught us a lot and really affirmed that renovation was something we always wanted in our lives. You can check out some of that house below: THE KITCHEN: {BEFORE} {AFTER} DINING ROOM: {This little dining nook was the original kitchen.} FALL HOME TOUR MASTER BEDROOM PATIO: So many fun spaces in that house! While we love our house now so much, there’s always something you miss about a home like this that you poured so much into. But, it’s just a house. And as much as we loved it, everything important came with us. I’ve been planning to for awhile, but going through these previous renos has really kick-started this item on the to-do list! I’m working on creating a comprehensive before and after/renovation page for each previous renovation to live under the Renovations tab at the top. It may not happen before baby considering he could come tomorrow! But it will soon and then it’ll be super easy to go back through the previous renos we’ve done and find quick links to those projects. Thank y’all for listening to Our Story! I love sharing it with y’all! It’s been a long time coming.
nancy says March 29, 2017 at 7:02 pm I’m really enjoying your story even though I’m at a very different place in my life (old enough to be your mother.) . I’m curious, and maybe this is hard to answer knowing how it has turned out, but would you, if you could do it again, or would you advise someone else in college, to acquire the debt you acquired? Do you think you could have accomplished what you wanted without going into so much debt? Reply
Lindsay says March 30, 2017 at 10:27 am Hi Nancy! That’s a great question! And it’s a tough one. I would definitely say we would both advise people to acquire less debt for sure! For us, making that decision at 18 was hard because we didn’t have the perspective of what the reality of it would look like to pay off. And we wouldn’t have met each other! For us, we do wish in some ways we’d started out with less, but if we had, our life and journey would look so different! God has redeemed it in the most beautiful ways and we both say we wouldn’t have the view of money or even life we do now if we hadn’t had to overcome that. So, yes, I think having less debt is ALWAYS a better answer! But for us, it has shaped who we are 🙂 Reply
