UncategorizedI’m Dreaming of a White Kitchen February 22, 2013One of the first rooms that we’re going to redo in the new house is the kitchen. We have to rip out the kitchen that’s there in order put down hardwoods, so we’d like to get the new one up and running as soon as possible. So, you guys will see a lot of Kitcheny (I’m going to pretend that’s a word) posts in the near future. I’m starting to develop an inspiration board for our kitchen that I’ll share next week with our specific plan (after I finally share a pic of the before of course!). In digging through my kitchen Pinterest board, I feel like I’m drowning in pictures of gorgeous kitchens and I’m lovin’ it. I mean, what better to drown in? You guys probably knew already because I haven’t been very secretive about my love affair with white, but as you see in the title, we will be having a white kitchen. I realized this morning that I never shared a picture of the kitchen in our old house! It was one of my least favorite rooms and other people’s favorites. It was a really nice kitchen that the previous owners had redone. It had very dark cherry cabinets, very dark granite counter-tops, tan walls, and tan tile back splash. It grew on me and was pretty, but it was all too dark for me. There wasn’t a white thing in the room! We considered redoing it, but that really didn’t make sense with how nice it was and the fact that we were selling very soon. Of course, I went to pull a picture of it this morning to include in this post and realized we don’t have a single one. How devastating is that? I never photographed it for the blog, so it never had it’s picture made. Our realtor said she can get me some, so when she sends them, I’ll share it just so y’all can see it. But for now, picture a big (although nice) dark room. And this white-loving girl hanging out in it every day. As much as I love food, the kitchen has to speak to my soul, people! So, here’s some Friday white kitchen inspiration off my Pinterest board that I’m really feeling. It’s also a sneak peek of what I’m loving and things that will probably make an appearance in our kitchen. Do you see the vibe I’m feeling? White, open, airy, some rustic wood elements, and maybe a little modern touch to edge it up. Forgive me if y’all see these pictures again in the coming weeks as I discuss what specific elements we love and will be using…because you probably will 🙂 Lovely weekend to all!
