Home DecorValentine’s Tour Part II February 13, 2017 Happy Monday, y’all! Thanks so much for your sweet feedback on Friday’s Valentine’s tour Part I! If you missed it, I shared some simple pink and red Love Day updates to our kitchen and dining room! While I love the changing seasons and decorating for holidays, I also want our home to come alive for out little ones! I went super simple this year, but we’re loving how different it feels. It’s amazing what a change just switching out a few colors can make! Today, I want to share our living room and Rosie’s playroom with some fun pink updates! I’ve never painted a floral before, but after painting Rosie’s playroom wall, I’ve been dying to try it! I love whimsical floral paintings and more than anything, I love creating and filling our home with meaningful pieces that we did for someone we love. I had Miss Rosie very much in mind as I experimented with this mainly-pink floral. I added a quick pink, red, and white tassel garland, some fringe trim I had in my ribbon drawer, and pink, red and white candles I had stored. I love colored candles and keep different ones on hand…such an easy and quick way to punch up a space. I love how the colors of this floral really tie in the whole room. I left the kantha blanket on the couch. It has so much pink and plum and was perfect. I like how it punches up out couch. I added some berry and blush pillows, but the main real change to this room was the mantel…and yet the room feels very pink and happy to me! Y’all know my absolute favorite part of design is thinking up color pairings and experimenting. I absolutely love how all of the colors are working together in this space! Here’s an up close of that floral for those who want to see: Imperfect and whimsical is my favorite and it so takes the pressure off of creating when that’s the goal! Let’s be honest, Rosie’s playroom already had plenty of pink…but I did make a few changes that feel special. The pink furry heart pillow won me over at Target the minute I saw it! While I love it for the holiday and will pull it out for future Valentine’s Days, I really think it may find a permanent place in Rosie’s big girl room. It just feels so fun for a little girl…I definitely want plenty of whimsy in her spaces. Rosie’s little kitchen area has become my favorite spot to decorate for the holidays. I had so much fun decorating this spot for Halloween and Christmas, so it felt only natural it’d get a little V-day update. I hung her pink apron up, sat out some of her pink pots and a heart cookie cutter. She plays over here so much and has moved these and moved them back a hundred times…I love seeing how she’s figuring all of this play cooking thing out! I found this little heart Dreamcatcher in Target’s dollar section and love it hanging here! Few things really say Valentine’s Day to me like flowers. I filled our kitchen and dining area with them and had to add a bit to my desk to brighten up my work days. And just like I said in Friday’s part I, what I love most when it comes to holiday decor is things that are versatile. While our home feels so much like love day to us, it also feels so pretty and springy! I think these changes will stay much past tomorrow and well into spring! Thanks for touring our home, y’all! Yes, that often means tablescapes, inspiring interiors, and fun before and after renos. But it also means family. Faith. Joy. Struggles. Laughter. Health. You’ll find a little bit of all of that here as I share how we’re choosing to live with both style and purpose. A huge part of that is our journey toward a more natural life that’s focused on enjoying each and every moment together. A huge thanks to my main blog sponsor that makes this dream of mine possible:
