Home DecorWKT10: Vintage Persian Rugs Under $400 July 23, 2016 Nearly every room that I design these days starts with a glorious, colorful vintage Persian rug as it’s base. I love them. It gives you an immediate color palette to work from. Their pattern and age brings such soul to a space and it doesn’t look just purchased from a big box store. It looks collected. For the bedroom, I found the rug first and then pulled my other main details from it and I really think that’s what helped to make this room feel cohesive, yet different…unexpected. For the bathroom, all of the rest of my accent colors were inspired once I found the rug. I get more questions about my rugs than anything else. On Instagram, everyone wants to know the source of my rug. The problem with vintage Persians is that they can be pricey, depending on where you get them…pricey as in well over $1,000. I love eBay’s selection and make sure you check out the post on my Tips for Buying Vintage Rugs on eBay. But for today’s Weekend Top 10, I decided to round up some of my very favorite vintage (AND REASONABLY PRICED) Persians that you can buy right now. Turn on your JavaScript to view content Any one of those rugs could inspire a room, y’all! Somewhere in the $200’s and $300’s (like all of these are) is the best price I’ve found on vintage Persians, except for the rare occasional antique store find. If any of you have ideas for these Weekend round-ups, I’d love to hear! Is there something I use often that you love and don’t know where to find? Any topic that you’d love to know where I buy or what I’m loving? Share in the comments!
Ashley says July 23, 2016 at 10:38 am I was reading (re-reading, if we’re being honest ?) your rug tips post and scouring eBay this morning when this post popped into my inbox – perfect timing! You’ve totally converted me to the power of a good rug. I’ve found a bunch of inexpensive small ones for under $100 from esalerugs.com and the ecarpetgallery eBay store – not vintage, but still “one of a kind” (they say?) and really beautiful. Selfishly, I’d love a Weekend Top 10 on wall sconces. Those Target ones you found are great, but everything else I’ve seen is awful. I’m sure I’m not looking in the right places. And maybe another on shelf decorations? Again, selfishly. I have a new built-in desk/bookshelf (!!!!!) to decorate and I’m in a rut. Thanks for sharing!! Reply

Austin says July 29, 2016 at 7:01 pm Two words: throw. pillows. ha ha – I always love the ones you choose, especially those oversized rust/cream/embroidered ones from Target in your living room a while back. Alas, I waited too long to pull the trigger on them and they sold out. Reply
