UncategorizedLast Day of Christmas Giveaways! December 7, 2012Happy Friday, everybody! I cannot believe we’re already to our last day of Giveaways…I’ve thought about this and planned it for so long. How do things just fly by? Today’s going to be short and sweet. Today we will be giving away a set of four JOY napkins from our line. I love ticking stripe and this red is fun. As I said yesterday, I’m loving the red this year and the country feel of these is right up my alley. Y’all enter away: We’ve talked about a lot of fun stuff this week in the questions and I have LOVED reading all of your answers. Today I want to hear what your absolute favorite part of Christmas is. I love Christmas and the family traditions that I grew up with. I could go on and on and on about my favorite parts. I love being with family and giving something to those you love. But the favorite part of our Christmases growing up that sticks out in my head is something that we do every year on Christmas Eve. My mom has a nativity where the Baby Jesus comes out of the manger. The nativity would be out throughout the Christmas season, but Baby Jesus was hidden. On Christmas Eve, mom would pull out Baby Jesus and after reading the Christmas story, we all crowd around and put Baby Jesus in the manger. This is my favorite part of our Christmases because it reminds and refocuses us on why we celebrate this season. All of the other stuff is wonderful…time with family, baking cookies, decorating trees, the excitement of Santa. But this is what it’s really about for me. Now, I want to hear your favorite part! Comment away 🙂 *** I hope you all have a wonderful Christmassy weekend. Make sure you check in on Sunday. All of the week’s winners will be announced that day! If you win, as soon as you get me your address via e-mail, your item will be shipped. So, until Sunday all giveaways are still open!
Rebecca Cash says December 7, 2012 at 6:44 pm Yes!! I love these napkins. I hoped you would be giving some away 🙂 My absolute favorite part of Christmas is my family Christmas eve tradition as well. After we get home from church we gather around the fire and tree and we each have a book that we read (these are books we have been reading since I was very little) some are about Santa Claus but more are about Baby Jesus and his arrival. Then at the end we read the story of His birth in the bible and we get in bed with that in our minds. I feel like it always helped to refocus me on what the season is about. As I have gotten older this time has become more special to me and I hope that Matt and I continue it with our children one day 🙂 Reply

Kelly - Talk of the House says December 7, 2012 at 9:34 pm Well I love the napkins, but I think Rebecca should win them since she is trying so hard to! 🙂 You both have such wonderful favorite parts of Christmas. Mine would have to be the singing of carols in church…especially Joy to the World…all those voices singing a gorgeous song of celebration. Glad to see you are embracing the inner red girl! From the lover of all things red… Kelly Reply

Mary South says December 7, 2012 at 11:21 pm We do a nativity on Christmas Eve too. It is fun to see my children act it out. That is about the only tradition we do every year. I love that Christmas is more than just one day that it is a month long celebration! Reply
Stuart Goetke says December 8, 2012 at 1:54 am My favorite part of Christmas is the music! I love singing Christmas songs at church, listening to it all day long on Pandora, and singing along with my husband at home. 🙂 I love every style of Christmas music..and I don’t usually like all styles. I also think I enjoy Christmas music so much because the month of December isn’t long enough for it to get old. Matt is kicking off our Christmas music at church this Sunday with “O Come Let Us Adore Him!” I can’t wait! Reply
Patty Page says December 8, 2012 at 9:41 am My favorite part–though I love it all—would have to be the reason for the season: celebrating the birth of our Savior. Reply
Jennifer Dudley says December 8, 2012 at 7:47 pm I always have given my kiddos Christmas pajamas Christmas Eve……….but last year I decided to add reading a Christmas book after they put them on and hot chocolate too! Reply
