UncategorizedChristmas Mantle December 7, 2011I had some fun decorating our mantle for Christmas this year. I don’t know what it is, but the mantle is always the first thing I want to decorate when a new season rolls along. I started with a garland and lots of mercury glass! I love using branches from the yard to decorate with, especially during fall and winter. My mom made us these burlap stockings last year. I love the little white ruffle and our initials. And I made the boxes in the fireplace last year. I was finishing up our Christmas wrapping and looked over to the empty fireplace and thought something was missing. I just wrapped up some empty boxes with the craft paper I was using and voila! It’s one of my favorite parts of our Christmas decor and it was the easiest and cheapest, by far. A new addition this year were these vintage Reader’s Digest books that my grandma recently gave them. Each is completely unique with interesting printed covers. I’m usually sad that our front door opens right into our fireplace. I would love to have an entryway. But this season, I’m happy with it 🙂 Dont’ forget to link up to Rhoda‘s Christmas Mantle party. I can’t wait to see what you guys came up with!
