UncategorizedModern and Fresh Fall Home Tour October 1, 2013 Well, the big day has finally arrived! After lots of planning, dreaming, and coordinating, our fall home tour series has begun! Kristen and I are so excited to be kicking off this series with our own homes today. So, grab yourself a nice cup of coffee…a big one. We’ve got a lot of photos to get through. Sprinkle a little cinnamon in it, maybe a little vanilla (my new at home fall coffee tradition), and sit back for some fall goodness. Welcome to my home! One of my very favorite parts starts at the door. I wanted something different and I’m loving the antlers and feathers. I asked my husband what he thought about it. He said, “We have horns and feathers on our door.” That was it. Y’all appreciate it, though, right? In all fairness, he did tell me later that it was cool. Now, come on inside! Don’t you feel that fall chill in the air? Come right on into our lounge (pretend there’s a blazing fire in that fireplace that will one day be opened up). The lounge got some new digs for fall. I added a fur pillow, a cozy knitted pillow, and of course, the stump tables! I had been picturing two stumps at different heights and finishes serving as the coffee table in here. They do not disappoint….and the green heirloom pumpkin? One of my favorite things about fall. The mantle got some new styling around the antlers. I used lots of pheasant feathers and some small pumpkins as my main pieces. Feathers are my favorite thing to decorate with for fall! And even the plant stand got some fall love. Now, on into the living room. Lots more to see! We’re really starting to brighten up this room and it’s quickly going from my least favorite to one of the top. The new rug and coffee table are doing a lot to help with that. I’ll post more details on them later! I love the contrast and texture that this room is starting to have. I’m still not sure the big, dark chair is staying, but for now, it’s a cozy place! Of course, this room needed a few pumpkins too. And an extra throw or two. Now what fall home tour would be complete without a place to gather and enjoy a meal with friends? I did a little fall styling in the kitchen. I’ve got to feel the fall love while I’m cooking! And last, but definitely not least, my favorite space. We’re ready for an outdoor dinner party with the bulb lights shining bright overhead. Followed by some time lounging by a nice fire and of course, some s’mores. Well, there you have it, friends. I’m so glad you could “virtually” stop by my fall home. Now, go and check out Kristen’s lovely space today. I know she has some amazingness up her sleeve! And don’t forget about the next 30 days of home tours! Tomorrow, we’re visiting Sarah’s house. *** Here’s a reminder of our schedule! 1 – Kristen and I will kick things off on our blogs with our tours! 2 – Sarah from Sarah M. Rosaline says April 4, 2014 at 5:27 am I am really inspired along with your writing talents as neatly as with the structure on your blog. Is that this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice high quality writing, it is uncommon to see a nice blog like this one today.. Reply
Lindsay says April 7, 2014 at 2:45 pm Thanks Rosaline! It’s actually a custom theme. I hired someone to help me. We started with a WordPress theme, but have had to customize a good bit to get the look I wanted 🙂 Reply
Brittany aka Pretty Handy Girl says August 12, 2014 at 9:19 pm Lindsay, love your home tour. I had to comment and let you know that I have the same copper kitchen canister set. It was my grandparents set and it was one of the only things I wanted after they passed away. The set will always have special meaning to me. So, imagine my surprise to see you have the same ones! Where did you get them? Reply
