Faith & FamilyWKT10: Kids Summer Fun July 9, 2016It’s been a week, y’all. Holidays always throw me off (in the most wonderful way, of course), but then our week was filled with finishing up some spaces that will be revealed soon. But I had to pop in for a little Weekend Top 10. I snapped this shot of my little cool summer cat last weekend at the lake and so much about this represents one of my favorite things about being a mommy. One of the things I looked most forward to before having kids was making life special. My mom was a pro at this growing up, and I dreamed about how I would follow in her footsteps. The thing I was most excited about was celebrating seasons and holidays with them and really making their childhood fun and magical. Mamas are in the memory-making business. I decided to round up ten of my favorite kids’ summer finds to really help them celebrate the season. Turn on your JavaScript to view content I have a little formula when it comes to putting together a seasonal “package” like this for my Rosie. It always starts with some sort of plush toy. I love cute cuddly stuffed animals probably as much as she does and this mermaid screamed summer! I love finding fun toys that she can actually play and pretend with. This kids’ beach radio is perfect for that. Now that she has a kitchen, I love looking for fun and unique play food. She can throw a cookout with this burger set and then add in some frozen treats for dessert. I try to find functional seasonal items like the swan float and flamingo kids pool that I know we’ll use, but are unique and playful. Some items that will get everyday use, but have a seasonal spin are a go-to for me. I love the fruit plate set with pineapples and while it may not be an everyday item to some, Rosie has grown to love purses and carries one everywhere. I’m in trouble, y’all. Either way, this little pineapple kids’ purse is just too cute. And last, but certainly not least, some seasonal books are a MUST for us. Flora and the Flamingo is a favorite of mine and has a seasonal spin and I love this Sun Sun book all about a day at the beach. Do y’all have any go-to items or traditions to help your kids really take in the summer season? I’m always building ours and I’d love to hear! Hope you’re all enjoying a sun-filled summer weekend! *** Make sure you check back in Monday. The master bath will finally be revealed!
