RenovationsWhite Buffalo Homes & Our First Flip! August 23, 2020 If you follow me on Instagram, then you know why these two crazy kids are HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! I made a pretty huge, crazy announcement last week on Instagram and starting homeschool this week has dominated my time since. I wanted to also announce it here for those who just follow our family through the blog. If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know our story. Ten years ago, these two newlyweds started tackling life with big dreams in their hearts and a crippling amount of student debt on their shoulders. We bought a foreclosure because it was all we could afford and began fixing it up. But then, God gave my entrepreneur, visionary husband an idea. And we began a journey of renovating, moving, and then selling our home every two years to pay off that debt. On that first house, we fell in love with renovating together and even back then, a dream was born in our hearts for when the debt was gone. Photo by Emily Bolt Photography We dreamed of turning this passion of renovating into our family business instead of a night and weekend gig. We dreamed of building something together, hand-in-hand. And we dreamed of a different sort of life for our family. We longed to be together more, which would mean Chris having a much more flexible job. We longed to travel a lot and for our kids to grow up with a sense of deep adventure. And most of all, we wanted them to witness and be a part of mom and dad embracing gifts God has given us, taking risks, and building something unique for our family and for Kingdom purposes. Ten years ago, the dream for White Buffalo Homes was born. There have been many times over the years we thought it might be time. Chris has worked as a project manager for an amazing company in town for the last eight years and it felt hard to let that go. But this July, God has made it really clear, it was time to take the leap. photo by Emily Bolt Photography Two weeks ago, Chris left his day job and we are officially in business together. WHITE BUFFALO HOMES is born! Chris texted me on his last day of work before launching this dream, LET THE BUFFALO ROAM. We’re thrilled for this next chapter in our family’s journey that we’ve dreamed of for so long. It’s going to be huge for the kind of life we feel called to as a family and something our kids will grow up being a part of. Here’s the next video in our story series where I share the story of how White Buffalo Homes officially came to be. We’re also really excited to help other local (Greenville, South Carolina) families with their dream homes! We will be focusing on flips, but will take the occasional large-scale reno. Now, speaking of FLIPS! Our first big project is a flip we’re tackling here in Greenville, SC. She is so darn cute and we are really excited to get started! We’re taking this cute little brick cottage with great bones and re-making her. It’s starting our at 1300 sq. ft., 3 beds, 1 baths and we’re transforming it to around 1950 square feet, 3 beds, 2.5 baths. Here’s the BEFORE FLOOR PLAN: And here’s the AFTER FLOOR PLAN: I filmed a tour for IGTV, but for those not on Instagram, here’s a video with all of our plans! For anyone local to Greenville, SC, this house is located off of Augusta Road near Blythe Academy. If you want more information about this house or know someone who does, shoot us an e-mail: thewhitebuffalostylingco@gmail.com.
