UncategorizedSuch a Deer Giveaway December 5, 2012All of you lovely readers are such deers. Sorry, I know, it’s so cheesy, but I had to. I found a greeting card at Michael’s a while back that had a deer head and the quote, “You’re such a deer.” I don’t know why, but I loved it so much and it really started my fascination with deer/stag heads as decoration. You guys saw these napkins from Monday’s giveaway… And the art from yesterday’s giveaway… So you’re probably already starting to realize that I have somewhat of a fascination with this. Well, you haven’t seen the half of it. Sweet little deers have found their way into several other places in our home. Is it overboard? Maybe, but I love it. Here’s the chalkboard over the bed in our Guest Bedroom (I know I still have to show this room redo…I’ll get there I promise). Yep, a chalkboard deer head. And I have several of these from Pottery Barn that I LOVE and I’m spreading around the house this evening as we finish up our decorating. And here’s the art in our mudroom/entry. Again I know I haven’t posted this yet. It’s been “in progress” forever and I’ve been waiting to finish it up to show it, but oh well. So you see, I’m loving the deer head. And I hear from the comments that some of you are too. So, that brings me to today’s Giveaway!!! Today we’re giving away a small version of this deer head art from the shop. The size is 10×12″ and would look great leaning on a shelf or hanging in a gallery wall or small spot. Remember here’s how to enter: And the question for today… Every year, we have traditional “goodies.” What is your favorite Christmas treat that you look forward to having every year? For me, it’s something we call Joy Candy. It’s chocolate, peanut butter, and butterscotch candy that everyone always raves about and it’s my favorite. I’m going to share the recipe next week.
Stuart Goetke says December 5, 2012 at 7:09 pm My favorite family treat is called “trash.” I’ve heard it called a lot of different names, but we have always referred to it this way! It’s the chex cereal, melted chocolate and peanut butter, and COVERED in confectionary sugar treat…yummm! I’m a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter, and the sugar on top doesn’t hurt. I love how you’ve tied in the deer decor throughout your home. I’ve been into owls for the past year. It’s probably about time I switched to something new! Reply
Kristina says December 5, 2012 at 7:09 pm Definitely apple pancakes for me. It’s our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. Pancakes made with applesauce, rolled around apple pie filling, and topped with cool whip and powdered sugar. The best ever. Seriously. Yay!! I’m so excited about the deer head! I LOVE it so much!!! Fingers crossed! Reply

Bugles, pretzels, Ritz PB crackers – you name it! I love the simplicity of the deer picture, yet it still makes such a statement. Merry Christmas! Reply
