UncategorizedOur Christmas Tree 2012 December 13, 2012As I said yesterday, I’ve been dying to share our tree with you this year, but I decided to wait for the link party today. I saw Holly Mathis’ tree last year and was inspired. I’ve always done a vintage style, but I loved adding the use of silhouettes. Hence, our vintage silhouette Christmas tree was born. We framed a J for the topper. We used a book page chain and lots of framed silhouettes in different frames: some wood, some painted. I’ve always loved using vintage silver pieces as ornaments. That stayed this year 🙂 I used some that I had in my childhood and some that Chris’ mom gave me last year for Christmas. They’re from different family members of his, which makes them so special to me. I love seeing them displayed here. Other than silhouettes, book page chain, and some silver pieces, we brought in various ornaments of silver, gold, and a little sparkle. And my favorite ornament of all is this carved wood nativity. It’s front and center on the tree. At the base of the tree, I gathered some burlap for a skirt and used two galvanized buckets to house presents. I have wrapped very few! I’ll post another picture when the bottom is a bit more filled with prettily wrapped gifts. And there you have it…our Vintage Silhouette Christmas Tree. Thanks for stopping by! I linked up to: Go check out their other links!
