UncategorizedMudroom Inspiration November 8, 2011Hey y’all. Please forgive my little hiatus this last week! The series was so awesome for me, but it did tire me out a little doing new projects so often. But I love the results we finished around the house. Now, I’m back, rested up, and excited to move on to other things… Our sunroom is the next project on our list. You come in our back door to the sunroom, so I really wanted to use it as a sitting area, but also a mudroom. I’ve seen so many mudrooms around the blogosphere and of course, on Pinterest and I have a few favorites that have inspired me. At first, I was thinking about going with a traditional mudroom bench and shelf like this one from Pottery Barn… I really do love this. But then I started seeing other images that I really loved too… I love the built-in look of this one, but I think I might want something a bit more eclectic for this space. I love the beadboard and of course, the hooks! I love the light fixtures in this one! The wire baskets and artwork are great too. But my favorite of all is this one… I had thought about using a church pew instead of a typical bench, but when I saw this one, I knew it! I’m not sure where I’m going to find one yet, but I LOVE the idea of using an old, historical church pew like this. We’re painting the walls Benjamin Moore’s White Dove (the same color as the sunroom), so I think the rustic wood tone will look good against the walls. I like the shelf and hooks in this one too. I love the pictures leaned on the shelf too. Any ideas on where to find a church pew like this? I’m thinking it’s going to take a lot of looking and a little bit of luck… {all images from Pinterest}
Sara Davis says November 11, 2011 at 9:32 am We have the same style lady! Our friends have one at their house and it is gorgeous (painted a faint blue). Todd and I are on the hunt for one as well. I found one on craigslist one time and by the time I had settled on actually buying it, it was sold. So if you find one, snatch it up and if they have two, call me! 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you do! Good luck! Reply
