UncategorizedLongest Yardsale Finds Day 2 August 8, 2012Thanks for the sweet comments on yesterday’s post about my glass and dishware yardsale finds. Kelly said that she no longer buys this stuff because she loves them so much and has no more room for them! I think I’m headed there with you, Kelly. I love vintage glassware and dishes!!! As promised, today I’m back to share the accessories that I found on the yardsale. There’s a lot so I’m going to move fast. I can’t believe the deals that I got on these and I love them so much, so I decided to quickly show y’all everything. Here goes: I found two old grain sacks, which I love and have been looking for a while. I got the two of these for $13! Pretty good deal for these vintage grain sacks that are becoming pretty rare. I got this hand-woven pillow for $5.00! I love the old country feel of this. I noticed a pattern when putting these finds all together…lots of blue and green. Did y’all notice that yesterday? Well, it continues today. I’d say those are definitely my colors. I’ve been wanting a globe for a while, but wanted one that looked a little different. I loved this one that I ran across: I love the white background with a touch of blue and the brass stand. Very much like my style and our house. Now onto some real antiques… I found this old washboard that’s 100 years old: This one we couldn’t talk down past $20 because of its age and condition, but I loved it and went with it. I love the patina…the brass has aged and is aqua in places. I got this vintage Crystal soda crate for $4.00 – best price I’ve ever seen on these. Going along with crates and storage, I got this pretty large crate for $10: Highland is the street that we grew up on, so this really appealed to me. I got a set of two old locker baskets for $7.50 each! This hanging kitchen storage basket was $10. This wooden jewelry hanger was $3.00: And some antlers to lay around that I got for $11 for the two: Hold on…we’re getting there! I got this horse paint-by-number: This was $6. I love the country vibe. I REALLY love paint-by-numbers. I’d love to find one of a black Great Dane like our Gracie. If any of you see one, please let me know! And last, but not least, one of my very favorite finds. I went looking for an old kitchen scale and found this one for $20. And like yesterday, we’ll finish off with a quirky find that I fell in love with. I found this green fish bottle opener for $2! Well, there you have it. I can’t believe how far we made the money go! I guess that’s what you get from a yardsale versus a retail store. I must say, I’m a yardsale girl through and through! I can’t wait to start finding places for all of this in our home. I’ll finish up with the finds tomorrow with furniture and don’t forget, I have my big trip highlight on Friday! Thanks for reading, y’all!
Megan Shipman says August 10, 2012 at 9:26 am Let me know what you end up doing with the soda crate. I have three old Pepsi ones that I found at Pottery Barn and then a yard sale. They melted my heart since that’s where Papa worked for years, but now I do not know what to do with them! Reply
Lindsay says August 10, 2012 at 10:08 am I definitely will! I’m not sure yet…my mom got a couple and is going to use them as drink servers. How awesome that you got Pepsi ones and he worked there 🙂 I love it Reply
