UncategorizedHappy Belated Valentine's Day! February 16, 2012I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day with a loved one or friends. We definitely did. We chose to stay in this year…we cooked a good dinner, got some dessert to go and really had a wonderful, relaxing time together. This year for Valentine’s Day, we wanted to get each other something small. We normally don’t get something huge for this holiday so we set a budget of $20. Here’s what I did for Chris…I had seen this idea on Pinterest: It’s all of the important dates in a couple’s life framed: his birthday, her birthday, their anniversary, etc. I loved this idea and have been working on wall art for our bedroom. I thought a romantic idea like this was perfect. I’ve been working in Photoshop a lot lately and thought I’d try to create our version of this. Here are the three options that I came up with. #1: #2: #3: The dates are his birthday, my birthday, the day we started dating, the day he proposed, and our wedding day. I couldn’t decide which I liked best. After getting some advice from others, I narrowed it down to 1&2. So, I just printed and gave him both. I framed one in a frame we had just so he could see what it would be like when he opened it. But I think we’re going to make or find another frame out of some weathered wood or something. He liked it, though! I love sentimental gifts for Valentine’s Day. His gift for me wasn’t so sentimental this year, but it was something I had been wanting so badly… …an iPhone!!! Yes, this was over $20. But with my upgrade it was cheaper. And, Chris sold something to pay for it, so he technically didn’t go over the budget. I love that creative man. I’ve needed a smartphone so badly to keep up with e-mail during the day, work on blog stuff, etc. This is going to be such a help! You should be hearing more from me around here…

What a fun present! I got shoes and Kurt got cycling gloves. We’re not good at sentimental, lol. And we went to lunch on Monday to celebrate and spend Valentine’s night playing games with friends. But we had a great time, so that’s all that matters. 🙂 Reply
