UncategorizedDoes Your Home Tell a Story? May 27, 2011And if so, what story does it tell? I have heard this time and again about designing your home. It should tell a story, and not just any story, but it should tell your story. There’s no limit to the ways you can achieve this and the cool thing is, no one else can tell you how to tell your own story. This is something I’ve been thinking over as it’s now really time to start “decorating” our home. Granted, we’ve been working on it for a while. We have furniture, new paint, and so on. But, nothing on the walls and very little in the way of accessories and personal touches. So, I am so excited to get started on this. I want us to be able to look around our home and certain objects spark fond memories, some inspire us, and some just make us plain happy. I’m thinking of using lots of word art. No duh, right? With my love of writing, I’ll probably end up with some sort of word art in every single room of our home! But, I”m good with that – I’m inspired by words. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve seen around that I might be using as inspiration for some of our own personal word art: via The Lettered Cottage via Milk and Honey Home The possibilities are endless with this. You could use song lyrics that are special to you, a favorite scripture or poem, or really, absolutely anything! The key is simply that it have meaning to you so that every time you read it, it brings you joy. I’m also thinking about framing some tickets from our honeymoon, a map of somewhere that has meaning for us, and of course, lots of favorite family photos! All are great reminders of this life that we are blessed to lead.
