Uncategorized25 DIY Christmas Ornaments November 20, 2013There is something refreshing about a simple, handmade Christmas. {via} In the hustle and bustle of today’s commercial holiday, we often lose the special and simple moments of Christmas filled with garlands and porch sitting. {via} Twinkle lights and cozy nights. {via} I’ve been planning my Christmas decor early this year. With the Christmas edition of Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours coming fast, I’ve had to go into Christmas mode a bit early. I usually think about Christmas, but force myself to wait until after Thanksgiving to really embrace it. But this year, I’ve realized that one of the perks of being a blogger is that you have to do holidays early. So, Christmas here I come. As I’ve been planning my Christmas decor and spending time in some of my favorite shops looking at what they have to offer, there’s a thought I keep going back to. I’m tired of buying and buying and buying more to have a prettier Christmas. So, I’ve decided (in true DIY blogger nature) that I’m going to go for a handmade Christmas this year. I’m DIYing everything that I can and I hope, in the end, creating a more simple and heart-felt holiday. Not to mention cheaper! I’ve been scouring the web and my blogger brain for inspiration and came across so many gorgeous DIY ornaments that I had to share. I’ve rounded up my 25 favorites that I’m most inspired by and hope you will be too! Here we go! Hop over to each talented ladies’ blog for the tutorial and her helpful hints and tricks. This brings back such great memories for me. Every Thanksgiving, all of my family gets together for several days. One of my favorite memories was cousin craft time. My Aunt Merrie would always bring Christmas crafts, usually DIY ornaments, for us to all make together the day after Thanksgiving to start getting in the Christmas mood! I’ll be sharing my DIY ornaments and tutorials next week in case any of you want to do the same! The best thing about these above (and the ones in my head) is that they’re really kid-friendly. How fun to have a craft for your kids where they’re actually creating decorations that they can hang on the tree and see for years to come. I love it!

Jolene says November 20, 2013 at 8:33 pm I’ve enjoyed following your blog over the last few weeks – I found you via the Fall Home Tour. I LOVE the wool blanket ornaments in combo with the woodland scene “in a cup” ornaments. This would look so awesome next to your big buffalo art! Happy crafting! (As I was reading, I was kinda wondering what you’ve done in the past for ornaments? Or do you do all new each year?) Reply
Lindsay says November 21, 2013 at 12:31 am Hey Jolene! I should’ve mentioned that…what a great question! I’ll definitely include that in my post that I have coming on Friday about my inspiration for this Christmas 🙂 In the past, I’ve DIYed a ton and kind of done theme trees. I’ve filled in with Christmas balls in different colors that I’ll be using 🙂 Reply
