EntertainingVintage & Rustic Fall Baby Shower October 29, 2014 Our sweet baby Rosie was honored this past weekend with the most beautiful fall baby shower. I’ve always dreamed of a baby shower. Dressing my little bump in a special dress and gathering with friends and family to welcome and prepare for a new addition to our family. I had a dress in mind to wear in honor of little Rosie Mills, but wasn’t sure it existed. I found this pretty fall floral maxi at Forever21 and it was exactly what I’d pictured. Not only did it have roses, but it had peach roses! I never thought it’d fit, but somehow it did {you can find this dress here}. Thanks to my parents and my sweet sister, we gathered at a 100-year-old mill near my parents farm. We have a tradition in this family to celebrate coming babies with a co-ed baby shower filled with all of our family friends. It was such a beautiful day. The deck looking out on the river was filled with pretty tables waiting for some delicious lunch and lots of friends. My mom and sister out-did themselves with the pretty decor! It was so me. They took our rustic, vintage nursery inspiration and our peach and mint color scheme and turned it into the most beautiful fall spread. Soft, neutral pumpkins. Pretty shades of peach roses. Perfect for our little Rosie. Deer antlers and vintage doilies. Not only was this shower filled with special people, but we were surrounded by meaningful things. The burlap table runners my mom made for our wedding almost five years ago. The wood rounds came from a fallen tree on my parents’ farm. The antlers were all shed and found by my dad. The ball jars are my great, great grandmother’s and the doilies were also made by that same special lady. One of my very favorite things were the sweet little clothes for our girl hanging over the gift table. Clothes from banner: coral onesie | gray polka dot onesie | rose onesie and cap | blue color-block dress (from GAP, but now out of stock) | lamb hooded towel | coral bear onesie | gray ruffle leggings | rose onesie | green splattered baby pants Oh my goodness. The lamb hooded towel, the sweet little newborn outfits covered in roses. I just can’t handle the preciousness. My sister made the diaper cake. Isn’t it beautiful? Chris and I were so overwhelmed with love and support as we enter this new special phase of our life. It’s been feeling real that little Rosie Mills will soon be joining our family, but it hit in an all new way at this pretty shower. Some of it was having my favorite little man in the world around (my nephew Malachi) and realizing that it feels like yesterday that mom and I threw a similar shower when my sister was expecting him. And now, he’s here and has filled us all with more love than we knew our hearts could handle. Seeing him, who we all anticipated for so long, run around, call us by name, and pretty much melt our hearts every minute makes me realize that in no time, little Rosie won’t be just a thought. She’ll be here. She’ll have a personality. She’ll be wearing these tiny clothes we got and I absolutely can’t wait to know her. I can’t wait to be her mommy. And I can’t wait to see this man in a whole new light as he holds her and learns to be her daddy. I can’t wait to go on this journey with him. *** For more Entertaining and tablescape inspiration, click here.
