StyleTrend Spotting & Favorite Sources: Kilim Poufs July 8, 2014Kilim has been a major trend for quite some time now. Obviously, I love it. My DIY Watercolor Kilim Wall is here to tell you, I love it. While I love my wall and its’ kilim-inspired print, there’s nothing like the traditional kilim rugs and the story that they hold. I love the current trend where people are taking traditional kilims and re-purposing them into something else. Obviously, kilim pillows have been around for a while, but that’s a great example. Today, we’re talking about kilim poufs. I love these things so much. Poufs in general are so versatile. They can be extra seating, floor pillows for lounging, or great foot stools. Plus, they can add a lot of personality without committing to a big piece of furniture. Many companies like Target have taken this trend and created replicas. I am such a fan of Target! Obviously, I bought one of them for my office! Fab.com also has some great replicas that really look like the real thing! {via} {via} But I still have a major crush on traditional kilim poufs. I love that they’re one-of-a-kind. And I love for items to have a history. Traditional kilims definitely add a sense of soul to your room. But traditional kilim poufs are hard to come by. I’ve searched for a bunch for client projects and for myself and they’re either hard to find or super expensive. I get the cost element behind it. They’re one-of-a-kind rugs handmade into poufs. There is a lot of craftsmanship there. But, I’ve finally found some sources that have great kilim poufs for a pretty reasonable price! Over and over, I have professed my deep love for Etsy and now I’m going to have to do it again. BazaarLiving is an amazing Etsy shop focused on all things bohemian. They have a great selection of Moroccan Rugs and Kilim Poufs. Here are two of my favorite poufs they are selling right now: {find this product here} {find this product here} At around $150 each depending on which you choose, the poufs are still an investment, but are cheaper than many replicas I’ve seen. The Fab.com replicas run at around $230. BoutiqueMaroc is really similar to BazaarLiving. They too have a really wide selection of Moroccan Rugs and Kilim items. Here are two of my favorites: {find this product here} {find this product here} BoutiqueMaroc’s prices are similar to BazaarLiving. The best part about these Etsy shops is that each item you’re buying is handmade and one-of-a-kind. The worst part is also that they’re one-of-a-kind, so when it’s gone, it’s gone! Granted, these two shops do seem to replenish quickly and even if the one you want gets sold, there are some other great, similar options! And the best part? You will never see your pouf in anyone else’s home!
