UncategorizedServices Now Available! May 16, 2014 When I first rolled out White Buffalo, my goal was to begin offering styling services. I wasn’t sure when, but I knew it was coming. Since then, this is something I’ve debated often. The biggest thing I kept going back to was that my goal with this blog and brand is to inspire YOU to create a space and a life that reflects YOU. My goal has never been to design things for you because then it would reflect me and not you. I’m confident in that vision, so does that mean that I shouldn’t offer services? But then, some of you started e-mailing requesting them. I’ve gone back and forth with how to reconcile these two things. I recently read a post from one of my favorite designers. Julie from Milk and Honey Home posted about how you reach a point where you have to decide if you want to be an interior designer OR a blogger and pursue only that. I agree to an extent. I know there are people who do both well. But I do agree with her that you need to figure out your ultimate goal and be intentional about pursuing only that. I’ve evaluated how I feel about that, what my ambitions are, and I know in my heart that I am a blogger. I love this blogging community and I love sharing style inspiration with all of you. I am not trying to be a full-service designer. I’m not educated in interior design. I’ve learned what I love and the skills I’ve amassed solely through designing and renovating our own homes. But offering styling services doesn’t conflict with any of that. The blog will still be my main focus, but for those who want some extra assistance or just don’t have time to find sources themselves, I will jump in and help! The best part for me about online services is that I am not a full-service designer. I’m not swooping in to your home and designing a room for you, top to bottom. I completely respect those who do that and I know many clients want that. But it doesn’t fit my vision for this brand. My goal is to give you some vision and direction, but then empower you to design your room yourself. Here’s what I’ll be offering: Do you have a room in your home that just doesn’t reflect you and you aren’t sure where to start? Do you have a party or event coming up that you want to be extra special? I will be offering online styling services for room designs in your home as well as event designs. Online styling services will obviously run differently than full-service design. If designing a room, you send me before pictures and dimensions for your space. For an event, you send me photos of where the event will take place and event details. I respond with a tailored style analysis for your project. After receiving that back, I analyze your style and create a vision for the project. You will receive a detailed Style Proposal complete with mood board, source list, furniture placement, and styling tips tailored to your space. There’s the vision. Then, hopefully, you feel empowered by your Style Proposal to decide which items to buy. And of course, it’s up to you to place and style them in your home or at your party! I’ll give advice, but you’ll be the one doing the install and making it work for your family or guests. I am so excited about this offering! My husband and I are on our second home that we’ve renovated ourselves. We flipped the first and made a significant profit that we put toward student debt. We’re now in the midst of our second and one year in, have a renovated home that is appraised for much above our investment. I don’t mean to toot my own horn at all, but we thrive off of planning and executing renovations and we’ve had some success. We would love to share that with you! With Renovation Planning, you would send us before shots of your space with dimensions. We would respond with a detailed project analysis to get to the bottom of your goals and how this space needs to work for your family. Then, considering that, we would create a detailed Renovation Plan showing exactly how we would renovate the space if we were flipping it/fixing it up to live in (considering your desires, of course). We would give you advice for exterior upgrades, walls to remove, and even some room boards for how we would finish out the space. Our goal with this is to use our expertise to provide you with a dream home for your family or to provide you with a great investment. *** I am so excited to begin working with some of you! I have already started working with a few clients who e-mailed me and requested it even though I hadn’t officially rolled it out yet and I am having the best time. I completely recognize this isn’t for everyone and as I said, it will not take over the blog. The blog is my passion and this is just a part of it. I may share client projects from time to time just for additional inspiration. But I will continue to share styling, renovating, and entertaining tips from our own home the majority of the time! If you’re interested or would like to learn more, feel free to e-mail me at lindsay@thewhitebuffalostylingco.com. The “Services” tab at the top will have all of this information if you need to come back to it. Let’s get our style on! Happy weekend, friends!

Tania // Run to Radiance says May 16, 2014 at 12:45 pm This is so exciting Lindsey! Rejoicing with you. 🙂 My hubby and I are on our third property! We did one the first year of marriage (super minor), the second the second year (fairly minor) and our now on the third (super major!). He’s pursuing his real estate license and we have some investors and will soon be working with them to flip another house (while still living/working in the current). Our plans are to pay off all our debt/student loans/car payments with the cash. It’s cool to see you guys doing the same! 🙂 Reply
Lindsay says May 16, 2014 at 2:27 pm Tania, that is so cool that y’all do that too! It has been the most amazing surprise for us. When we got married, neither of us even realized that we loved to renovate and design. We renovated our first house (which started as a foreclosure) and the idea to sell came much later when we were sitting under a mountain of student debt. When it was all finalized, we couldn’t believe the profit and how that one event totally changed our financial outlook! Now we’re finishing up this second and it appraised to do even more for us. It’s just cool to see how God provides. There was a day when our outlook was very bleek. We had a couple hundred thousand dollars in debt, wanted me to be home with future kids and there was no way out. In comes design! It very literally saved us! Cool to connect with someone else who understands that 🙂 Reply

Shannon says May 19, 2014 at 9:33 am So excited about this Lindsey! My fiance and I will be moving into our first house once we get married and I am already thinking of ways to combine our masculine and feminine styles (something I know you’re great at). And we have very little furniture between and a very small budget between the two of us so I think I just might have to reach out for some help from you here in the near future! Good luck with this new branch of the White Buffalo! Reply
