UncategorizedRenovation Update April 3, 2013Y’all forgive my absence around here the last few days. I’m on Spring Break, which is exciting, but we’ve been pretty crazy. First of all, we currently don’t have internet. So blogging time and logistics has been a bit difficult and I hate it! Also, today is a huge deadline for us. We’ve had a lot of work on our part leading up to today and we are so happy we made it! We’re headed out of town this afternoon for a little much-needed getaway to Savannah, GA so that we’re out of the house for some renovation awesomeness. When we return, the whole main living area will be painted, the cabinets and sink will be in, and the floors will be all refinished and pretty. Yay!!! Major, major progress. We can’t wait to get away and rejuvenate and then come back and see major updates. Before we leave, I wanted to share the current state of our kitchen. I last posted about it here. Remember, here’s how it looked the last time we shared (last week). It now has bead board and cabinets installed. Our farmhouse sink will sit right below that window. Now they just need a coat of white paint! Everything you’re seeing will be white: bead board, cabinets, trim, etc. The stove will be stainless. We just sat this old one in because it’s the same size and we wanted to make sure the fit was right. The other side of the room looked like this when I last shared it. Today, it looks like this: The door on the right is right off the driveway, so it will be our entrance. Bring groceries right into the kitchen! In the space between the door and the window, we’ll set up a little mudroom and organization area. The closet on the left will be out future pantry. We are really coming along! Can’t wait to see this coated in white paint and the floors finished on Sunday. Then, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but our counter tops and appliances go in next week. Wahoo! I have a few quick posts scheduled while I’m gone. There were a few more things I wanted to share and I took advantage of mom’s internet today 🙂

Kristina says April 3, 2013 at 5:16 pm Oooo, it looks so awesome! And seriously, I’m taking tips from y’all: buy cheap, use a contractor. What a huge advantage! I’m so excited to see it. I’ll admit, I check for new blog posts every day, and when there’s not one in the morning I check periodically. 🙂 Have fun in Savannah! Reply
