UncategorizedPatio Mood Board February 27, 2014I am loving this warmer weather that we’re having in South Carolina. It makes me so impatient for the beautiful days of spring and summer and the magical nights spent out under the stars. I’m ready for long, drawn out dinners with laughter and music. I’m ready for crisp spring evenings just cold enough to allow for a little outdoor fire. And I’m loving creating a stylish place to do all of those things. Here is my inspiration: Right now, the patio is so neutral and blah. It has great potential, but I’m feeling the need for some color and texture. For my color palette, I’m thinking navy, green, coral/pink, and teal. I’m sure I’ll bring in some additional colors, but those will be the focus. The colors will mainly stay in accessories and there will be tons of wood and neutrals. So, don’t picture a neon coral patio with green furniture….bright color in small doses. Copper. I am so in love with copper, it’s stupid. And it will be making a grand appearance in this patio design! For accessories, I’m thinking a lot of pillows and textures. You knew some kilim had to be there! We really want to use this patio to do a lot more entertaining, so I’ll be bringing in a lot of accessories to help us do that. A pretty tray, a mix of colored vintage glasses, and some candles. We’re planning to bring in a lot of plants, both potted and planted. But, we’ll be relying most on potted plants that will sit around due to roots. Me: I want to plant this whole strip right here. Chris: It’s filled with tree roots. Me: And? Well, apparently it’s a problem. I’m working on my green thumb. So, I’m DIYing the heck out of some pots to bring in a lot of greenery and tons of succulents. I don’t know what it is about succulents, but I love them and might just buy out my Home Depot’s section. Seriously. Stay tuned for more sneak peeks and tons of patio DIY’s to come!
