UncategorizedOur Spring Break: Part I April 10, 2012Last week was our spring break at school and Chris and I headed to Chicago for a few day getaway. It was much colder than I expected it to be, but we had a really great time. I wanted to share a little glimpse of our trip with y’all. We saw some great sights, ate some great food, enjoy some good quality time together, and of course, I found some design inspiration along the way. We stayed here at the Sutton Place Hotel right off Michigan Avenue. It’s the tall darker building on the right. This was the view from our window. I’m not always a city person, but this was really beautiful to me. We went to the Field Museum and saw and learned some amazing things. We went to the Aquatic Show at the Shedd Aquarium, which is best aquarium I’ve been to. We took Chris to Wrigley, which was on his bucket list. Being a big baseball guy, he has a list of stadiums around the country that he wants to see. This was one of the main reasons we decided to go to Chicago. It’s amazing to see what can make a man become a giddy little boy again. He was really excited and pretty cute 🙂 We ate some awesome food too. I know this sounds strange, but I often joke that a lot of my happiness comes from food. It may be a joke, but it’s partly true too. We ate deep dish Chicago pizza on the first night at the original Pizzeria Uno. My favorite dinner was at Gibson’s Steakhouse. It’s a really old and popular steakhouse right beside our hotel. The lobby of this restaurant had some awesome gallery walls with photos and autographs of famous people that have visited. I love the crowded gallery wall like this. It had such a classic feel. I would love to do this somewhere with family photos one day. I loved the filet we had at this restaurant, but I spent just as much energy poring over this wall! I’ll be back tomorrow with Part II of our trip details and a few more designs that inspired me in the Windy City!
