Home DecorOur Patio at Haven! June 11, 2015 It’s fitting that it’s #tbt since I’m sharing one of my favorite past projects today. Last year, I got to participate in Home Depot’s Patio Style Challenge. Participating in that challenge had been a dream of mine for quite awhile and I was thrilled…not just for the honor of being included, but also because here’s what our backyard looked like when we moved in. Scary, scary dirt yard, y’all. Prior to the challenge, we added the master suite onto the back of the house, so those awful stairs went away. But we didn’t really do much else. And then the little Home Depot fairy came and here’s what we ended up with: We have loved every minute spent out in this bohemian oasis! We built a pergola and created a lounge area. We created an outdoor dining space and buffet to serve off of. And we created a little fire pit area. I love this space and I sure am going to miss it! But why am I reliving this for you today? I’m so honored that our patio going to be memorialized at Haven this year! Last year, the Home Depot booth at Haven was insane. Did any of you see it? They took inspiration from some Patio Style Challengers and created a fun, outdoor space complete with pergolas inside a hotel ballroom. It was awesome. Well, this year, Home Depot decided to up their ante and ran a little contest. They chose four previous style challengers as “contestants” of sorts and the space with the most likes on Instagram won. I’m so honored and excited that our patio received the most likes and will be featured at Haven! Yep, the awesome Home Depot team will be creating a booth inspired by our very own backyard! Pretty cool. The sad part is that I wasn’t planning to attend Haven this year. Not because I don’t want to. I’ve gone the last two years and have loved it! I really credit the majority of this blog to Haven and the connections made there! But…a nursing five month old and a three-day conference just don’t work together so well. But I have got to see this space! I’m trying to figure out if I can just pop in to see it and to meet some of you! Maybe Miss Rosie could handle that. I was already sad to not be attending Haven this year and now, I REALLY, REALLY am. If I don’t make it, you ladies who are going have to send me some pics!
