EntertainingOur Fall Dining Table November 1, 2012I wanted to pop in quickly today and show you our fall dining table. I don’t normally keep it set all of the time. A centerpiece usually does the trick, but something got into me this year and I decided to set it with dishes, napkins, and my vintage green glasses. I used the linens from our Enchanted Autumn Line. You can find the ticking stripe runner here and the vintage floral napkins here. I love the color in this vintage floral. I set out my green vintage glasses. In keeping with the simplicity of the rest of our fall decor, I placed little pinecones on the napkins… …and piled up some tiny pumpkins for the centerpiece. I actually love having it decorated and set for a party. Is it practical? Probably not…I have to move it for us to eat and we have to keep the pinecones out of Gracie’s mouth. But it’s so pretty and it makes me happy every time I pass. So, for now, it’s staying. What do you guys think? Which is more important…practicality or pretty? I’m always hoping for a balance of both, but I must admit, pretty often wins out.
Rachel says November 1, 2012 at 4:15 pm Pretty! Especially with the house on the market 🙂 Our dining room table is semi-set right now & my father-in-law came for a visit & said, “Don’t your plates get dusty??” – HA! But they are still out looking all pretty! Reply
Melanie says November 3, 2012 at 7:43 pm Very pretty! I really like the table runner, too. I don’t keep my table set because we don’t have a dining room – we only have an eat-in kitchen. And I use the table during the day to do paperwork sometimes. I also have 3 cats and they would be jumping up there all the time to investigate – so I have to deter them as much as possible. Reply

If you set yours for 4 instead of 6, it would be a little easier to move it for using the table and it would still have the fall look. I love your dough bowl and your dishes. Enjoy your Sunday.
