UncategorizedOur Anniversary Weekend May 21, 2012Happy Monday, y’all! I know Mondays and happy don’t always go together. Isn’t it hard to go back to work and normal life after a great weekend? This one is happy for me, though…it is our last Monday of the school year! I love teaching, but the kids have that summer itch, which makes me have it. Time for a break. I have so much home and blog stuff planned for the summer and I can’t wait!!!! How was your weekend? I hope good. We set aside this weekend to celebrate our two year anniversary and we had a great time. We relaxed, went on a date, and saw some friends – awesome weekend 🙂 Our big anniversary gift was Gracie, but we still wanted to do something special. My husband said he had it covered and planned a few things. We got dressed up one night for a special dinner out… I wore the dress that I wore to our rehearsal dinner. I still love this dress: We went to dinner at Breakwater, a new restaurant in Downtown Greenville: {their website} It was delicious…very small portions for the price, but still really good. And we had a great time! If you go, try the fried oysters. I got a sampler plate and they were the best thing I tried! Really different, but yummy. On Saturday morning, we met our friends Keith and Rachel for breakfast at this little place: It’s called Williams Hardware. It’s a little cafe located right along our bike and walking trail in Traveler’s Rest. They’ve turned an old hardware store into this little shop and restaurant. Sorry for the poor picture quality – it’s an iPhone pic and didn’t turn out very well. They’ve made a little shop in the front and a restaurant in the back. It has so much character with the old beams and the new art and industrial light fixtures. I’ve wanted to go here since we moved into the house a year and a half ago (we live very close), but we’ve just never made it. I’m so glad we finally did – the food was delicious!!! If you’re in the area, you have to try it. On Saturday night, we did something that I’ve wanted to do for the last year! Yes, we went to a Drive in. I know it may seem silly, but I have ALWAYS wanted to do this! I didn’t know there were any still around. A year ago, we found this one in Greenwood (about an hour and a half from our house) and have been trying to go ever since. There is a restaurant there that cooks all their food from scratch – we had cheeseburgers and they were awesome. We sat back and watched The Avengers from the comfort of our little car on this big screen… It was even better than going to the movies – I felt like I was out on a date back in the ’50’s. It was awesome. I had hoped to get a picture of the movie actually playing, but it was way too dark by then. I also meant to get some pictures of us at this place, but of course I forgot. I’ve gotten better about documenting what we do and projects, but not ourselvs. I need to work on that. I’m working on a post detailing our lamp makeovers from the sunroom. I’ll have that later today or tomorrow morning, but I had to share our weekend. Thanks for hanging in there with me!
