Home DecorORC Week 3 – The Bedroom Sconces April 21, 2016It’s been a slow week on the master bedroon with the playroom being revealed on Monday. But now that it’s revealed, I’m so excited to start making some progress on this room! Getting that room finished has really spurred me on to finish others. I’ve realized that having a deadline for room reveals really works best for me. While the pressure isn’t always fun, I definitely work best under pressure. I can’t believe it’s already week 3 of Calling it Home‘s One Room Challenge. And the room still looks like this today…. YIKES…but it’ll start getting prettied up this weekend with the wallpaper. And for me, rounding everything up is the hard part and I have been working hard on that. One thing I did round up this week that I’m excited about are the sconces! I really wanted to go with wall-hung sconces instead of traditional bedside lamps, but I didn’t have a lot of money to put towards them. They can be expensive! Plus, that got miscommunicated when Chris was wiring the addition and they were not wired in. We had too much on our plates to keep it all straight those days. On my weekly (okay, sometimes bi-weekly) trip to Target, I came across these new Threshold sconces. They’re white and brass, though they do look a little gray in the website photo. They have a plug-in cord, so that works out perfectly! And they were only $29…that we can handle. I think they’re going to look great popping against the blue floral wallpaper and on either side of the dark bed. Now just to finish rounding up things for the space. Here’s what’s left to do (it’s a long list, I know): 1.) Hang wallpaper on focal wall 2.) Build headboard 3.) Figure out bedding ( I have some ideas). 4.) Round-up nightstands – I’ve been searching, but so far, no luck. They may be mis-matched at this rate. 5.) Nail down art. 6.) Figure out other side of room – Oh yeah. This side needs some attention! I’m saving it for a last resort, though, because it can always be done afterwards if it has to. I know there are probably more things, but those are the main ones. I’m going thrifting and yard-saling with my best friend this weekend and the girl is gooooood. Fingers crossed I can round up some of this! I’ll be back Thursday of next week with some actual updates in the room!
