Home DecorMaster Bathroom Design Plan May 12, 2015This is a sponsored post by Decor Planet. All designs and opinions are 100% my own. One of the most exciting parts about our renovation to me is the new master bath. Even though I’ve only designed the floor plan, in my mind it is luxurious! Here’s a reminder of the bath floor plan (you can see our entire floor plan here). I am so excited about the view from the bathroom door. The mirrored vanities with the bath in between has made my design mind fly with possibilities! I knew that could be a gorgeous, statement-making view. This isn’t necessarily our FINAL plan, but it’s our starting inspiration. Our dream master bath board, if you will. I knew I wanted to incorporate some patterned tile like I talked about on Monday. But Chris has been requesting at tiled brick floor forever and I love the soul it would bring into the room. So, with those two things in mind, I set out to create my dream master bath. I knew pretty quickly (as I do in most every room) that I wanted to incorporate a mix of styles. I don’t think I can design without it! Here is the dream plan: Sources: patterned tile | brick tile | Persian runner | claw foot tub | faucets | vessel sinks | mirrors | industrial sconces | light over tub | (vanities are a vintage dresser that I will find something similar to) My vision is to slightly bump out the wall behind the two vanities, so the tub would sort of sink in a bit. Then, I would tile those two walls with the patterned tile, creating a lovely backdrop and symmetry. I am so in love with the idea of a brick floor. This brick tile is actual shaved brick made into tiles. I love the idea of a long runner that spans the vanities and tub. Persian, patterned rugs are my big obsession lately, but I think a more solid overdyed version would be best in this case. That way it won’t compete with the tile, but will pick up that deep blue. I love the idea of really bringing in some age and patina with the vanities. I’m picturing matching vintage wood dressers (if such a thing can be found) with more modern, white vessel sinks on top. These faucets are killing me! I’ve loved them for so long and knew I wanted them in a future bath (the faucets would sit directly behind the sinks, but moved them to the side for the inspiration so they’d be seen). I chose white industrial sconces to hang over the over-sized round mirrors. I love the style-mixing of all of those elements! And I love how the mint mirrors play off the tile and darker blue elements. It perfectly meets my color-mixing goals for this house. The light over the tub is definitely in the “dream” category, but I love the feel of it and had to include it. What a statement that would make! Maybe I can come up with/find something similar to hang over the tub and tie it all together. And the tub. This tub is a thing of my dreams! I’m so excited to have a vintage-feeling claw foot tub like this one to soak in. And I love that it will sort of be the focus of this bathroom. This tub specifically is from Decor Planet. They have an awesome variety of bath products: vanities, mirrors, sinks, faucets, tubs, the list goes on and on! I have had the best time scouring their site and this tub was singing to me! Can’t you just imagine unwinding after a long day there? I can just see it! Put little Rosie to bed and enjoy a nice long soak with some tea and a good book. With this design, I would keep the rest of the walls white and would do the tiled standing shower in all white tile with matching champagne bronze fixtures (like the faucet). I’m ready to get her designed and start soaking. Now that I have this design in my mind, I can’t think about anything else. I hate having to wait to really get started on it, but we should be breaking ground on the addition soon!

Lindsay says May 13, 2015 at 10:39 am Woohoo! Thank you, Kim! That means so much 🙂 I usually don’t like designing bathrooms because I feel like it’s harder to give them the personality and uniqueness I crave, but I LOVED doing this one! I can’t wait to make it come to fruition! Reply

Might be good to check out. Not an exact match but the idea is the same… http://www.vintagerevivals.com/2015/03/diy-bent-arm-chandelier.html Reply

Audra says May 15, 2015 at 10:27 am I would turn the tub the other direction so when you are soaking in that luxurious bath tub by Decor Planet you aren’t looking at the toilet. You could be looking at fabulous art on the opposite wall! Don’t forget some kind of rustic stool to set down that wine glass and book! Reply

Lara says November 3, 2015 at 7:21 pm Loving the lighting you have chosen for your bathroom, it seems far too many people neglect this or only think of suitable lighting as a last minute addition. But it looks like you’ve put plenty of thought into it and it shows, well done! I look forward to an update on how the remodeling is progressing, that is of course if you’re not too busy soaking in your gorgeous vintage bathtub x Reply
