RenovationsMaster Bathroom Budget Breakdown July 20, 2016 Thanks for all of your sweet feedback on our master bath reveal! We really do love how it came together and we love the price tag. While it’s obviously one of the most expensive rooms in our home (bathrooms always are), but we did save money in some big ways. Here’s our full budget breakdown: MASTER BATH BUDGET BREAKDOWN PLANKED WALLS: All planks were original exterior planks from the house, so we re-purposed them on the walls here. We used leftover white paint from the original reno, so this was a big budget-saver to add character. TILE: Read the bath progress post for more tile details. Shower Materials: $600 The tile was under half of that, but the waterproof liner, shelf insert, corner seat, etc. adds up. We bought the tile, but our tile guy purchased all of the other materials and we paid him for them. Floor Materials: $300 The tile was $1.50/square foot, but we had a huge area to tile (150 square feet). Labor: $3,000 Obviously, this was a huge cost for the room! Laying tile is something Chris has done before , but it’s very time consuming and we would’ve needed to hire out the shower. While this is really expensive, it didn’t surprise us for a standing tiled shower and 150 square feet of floor. TILE TOTAL: $3,900 Read the bath progress post for more tile details. GLASS SHOWER DOOR: $1,000 You may remember that we were going to wait awhile on this door, but ended up finding someone to do it for much cheaper than expected. We went with a frameless look, which was about $200 more, but we liked the look so much better that we went with that option. SHOWER FIXTURE: $94 Delta Champagne Bronze HEATED FLOORS: $921 A heating mat (NADWM-120-1050) – $716 (this depends on the size of the floor you’re installing it on and ours was a very huge floor!) A 3iE Energy-Monitoring thermostat (3iE-05WHGF) – $205 These products are from Warmup Heated Floor Systems. You can read more about how we installed them here. VANITIES: Table Legs: $200 Other wood needed: $60 Stain and Poly: $15 TOTAL: $275 (for both) Read the full tutorial for our DIY Farmhouse Vanities here. VANITY SINKS: $78 (for both) DELTA CHAMPAGNE BRONZE FAUCETS: $816 (for both) Read about sinks and faucets here. BUDGET-FRIENDLY CLAWFOOT TUB: $600 Vintage tub: $250 Refinishing: $350 Read the full details on our budget-friendly tub here. LIGHT FIXTURES: Lantern over tub (from Lamps Plus, but out of stock): $380 Barn Lights: $80 (for both) TOTAL: $460 MIRRORS: $80 (for both) Purchased at Old Time Pottery and painted with leftover paint I had (Pristine Wilderness from HGTV for Lowe’s). VINTAGE PERSIAN RUG: $220 Purchased from eBay. TOILET: $200 MINT CHIPPY STOOL: $10 Purchased at a local antique store. PINK TOWELS: $176 (for two complete sets from Christy Linens) Read more about the towels here. TOWEL BASKET: $60 (for both) Purchased from Target. ART: pulled from around the house ROOM TOTAL: $8,890 If I missed anything, ask in the comments and I’ll be sure to add it!

Chaney says July 21, 2016 at 8:42 pm Ditto! We’re thinking about doing it in our kitchen reno and I’d LOVE to know the answer! Reply
Lindsay says July 25, 2016 at 10:48 am Thanks, Chaney! I completely forgot to include that! Our total was $921. It totally depends on the amount of space you’re trying to cover and ours was huge, so the heated floor mat was $716 and the thermostat was $205 Reply
Lindsay says July 25, 2016 at 10:45 am Holly, oh my goodness….I TOTALLY forgot to put that number in the budget! Thank you for catching that. I visually went through the room to make sure I’d caught everything, but of course, you can’t see the heated floors 🙂 Hate I missed that initially! Our total on that was $921. You’ll see on the company’s website here there are no costs listed, you just get custom quotes because it completely depends on your size of space. Ours was HUGE, so the bulk of that cost was enough heated floor mat to cover our large floor space – $716. The Energy saving thermostat was $205! Reply
Jenn Corazzo says July 21, 2016 at 10:04 am Thanks for providing a break down – very helpful! How much was the infloor heating, I recall you added that to the bathroom? Reply
Lindsay says July 25, 2016 at 10:46 am Yes, Jenn, thank y’all for catching that! I totally forgot to include that in the budget breakdown! I’ve updated the post now, but the total was $921. It completely depends on the amount of floor space you’re trying to cover. Ours was HUGE, so the heated floor mat was $716 and the energy saving thermostat was $205 Reply

Courtney says January 5, 2017 at 11:21 pm Everything looks great! We are starting a bathroom addition in a month or two! One question, is the $3k just for the tile labor or the labor of the whole bathroom? Reply
