UncategorizedInspired Design Challenge Round-up August 19, 2013We came. We DIYed. We Conquered! Okay, cheesy? Yes, but so true! I had such a blast working with these amazing ladies and seeing what they came up with each week. I think the title was so fitting (at least for me) because I left each week so inspired to do new things in my own home. I had the hardest time narrowing this down, but with 25 amazing projects completed, this post would be forever long if I included them all. So, I chose a few favorites. During our first week, Kristin from Bliss at Home created these amazing snakeskin frames using duct tape. {via} How awesome is that?! They look so high end. Not to mention her gorgeous pictures! I met Kristin at Haven, y’all, and she has the most lovely and encouraging spirit about her. Not to mention that she’s beautiful and looks like a model. I mean, do you see her picture up there? She’s seriously awesome, though, and I’ve loved working with her and getting to know her. Blog BFF’s in the making for sure! I have to feature one more that Kristin did because to me, it packed such a statement for a small project. She framed this Anthropologie mat to create some wall art. {via} I love the global feel of it and the colors are great. And how she paired it with the gold “be brave” art beside it? genius. Awesome job, Kristin! I first e-met Jennifer from Brave New Home earlier this year and have been following her ever since. She and I have a similar style in a lot of ways and I love the fun stuff she comes up with. One of my favorite projects of hers is this Urban Outfitters inspired word art. {via} This makes me so happy 🙂 Perhaps that was its’ intent? Anyway, I love this large scale word art, because it’s a fun and constant reminder to your family. Definitely want to incorporate something like this. Even more than her style, though, I love her personality that comes through on her blog. She’s so kind and has become a great “blog friend” over the past few months. So glad I got to work with her! And we both used to do a pageant or two, so we’ve got some history there. Way, way back, Angie from Angie’s Roost did a guest post house tour on my little blog. Ever since, I’ve been hooked on her funny posts and creative projects. Angie and I finally got to meet in person at Haven. It was awesome to connect in person after having an e-friendship for a year! She’s just as awesome in person as we read her on the screen. My favorite project of Angie’s is this light switch makeover. She was inspired by World Market to paint this old carved light plate she had white. {via} I love the little eagle. Awesome job, Angie! And last, but certainly not least, Sara from Embrace My Space. I first e-met Sara at the start of this little challenge and I am so glad I did! She’s the sweetest and has a baby on the way. She’s decorating the cutest nursery for her little one and I can’t wait to keep following her motherhood journey! For our West Elm week, Sara created this paper chandelier for her new little one’s room. {via} How fun is that? It has so much color and personality and I really think it brings a lot of fun to this room. Well, ladies it’s been so much fun! And thank you lovely readers for following along with our challenge. I know that it really pushed me to think outside the box and create some fun and unique tutorials for our home. I learned a lot and can’t wait to keep DIYing! For a full list of all the projects we did, check out Kristin’s post. She did a great roundup of every single project.

Miss Charming says August 19, 2013 at 10:32 am I enjoyed meeting you at Haven, Lindsay! It’s been so fun to follow along on your design series. I loved all the DIY inspiration (and discovering new blogs, too!) I’m crushing on Kilim lately so some of my favorite projects from the challenge were your pillows and ottoman cover. Love them! (We have a Garden Ridge nearby so I definitely need to check out the rug section!) Reply
