UncategorizedI'm Kreativ! February 24, 2012My dear (writer and life) friend, Kristina, bestowed on me the Kreativ Blogger award earlier this week. I have to say, I’m honored! Kristina is a phenomenal writer, author of this GREAT writing blog (check it out!), an all around cool and wonderful person, and one of my dearest friends! We have really grown close to each other with our love of writing (and the MFA program I was in), our love of home and DIY projects, and everything else that makes us “us.” She. is. awesome. And I love her! Apparently the rules for the Kreativ Blogger Award are the following: 1) Share 10 random (and hopefully embaressing) facts about yourself 2) Pass it on! So, here goes (yes, these might be embaressing at times, but I’m being honest here, peopel!): 1.) I have an abnormal love of reading. I guess this makes sense because I am a writer. But I love nothing more than a good book. When I am lost in a book, I can’t hardly think about anything else. I live in the life of the characters and can’t wait to find even two minutes to read a little more about them. 2.) I read Twilight (and I loved it). I don’t know that it was my favorite book ever, but I did get lost in the story and want to spend time in their world! I love all types of books, but my favorite right now is YA Fantasy. I have a reading list right now of YA Fantasy that is really, really long. 3.) Every single place I go, my first (even subconcious) reaction is to start redecorating it in my mind. It doesn’t matter where it is, but I immediately think of how I would do it for our family. I have a problem. I’m telling ya. 4.) My favorite guilty pleasure is homemade kettle corn. I dream about this stuff. 5.) My favorite TV show is The Vampire Diaries. I guess this makes sense with my love of YA Fantasy. It has action, history, suspense, and of course a little love. My husband watches it with me – he’s so sweet. 5.) I am obsessed with theology. I thrive on having long spiritual conversations about Biblical passages and meanings. 6.) I love gold jewelry. I used to be just a silver girl (and I do still like silver), but I have a newfound passion for gold, especially vintage gold jewelry. 7.) I am a closet introvert. For those of you who know me well, you are laughing in disbelief right now. I love to talk, I know. And I love people. I love spending time with others and developing relationships. But I secretly crave alone time. I recharge my batteries best when alone. 8.) I am studying Revelation right now and I am floored by it. I’ve always been scared to read this book for some reason. But recently, our church did a study on it and I learned that it is the only book of the Bible that promises you a blessing for reading it. I’m loving it and am in awe of the powerful God I’m getting to know more there. 9.) I long to be adventurous. Growing up, I’ve been a scaredy-cat. I’ve always been scared of almost everything. I’ve been trying to grow out of that and lately, I’ve felt myself moving in a new direction. I secretly long to be a woman of adventure! 10.) I feel most like myself, like I think I was created to be, when I’m doing something creative. It might be writing, blogging, making over a piece of furniture, redoing another room, who knows what, but I feel most like Lindsay during those times. Thanks for listening to my rambling about myself! Now, time to pass it on: I give this award to…..(insert drumroll)……. Julie from Milk and Honey Home! I read so many blogs and love them all, but seeing the rooms that Julie and her friend and business partner, Anisa, create always inspire me. They are so fresh, unique, and a little bit country. I always love to see what new creations they’re up to! Plus, they seem like the sweetest people on earth. Go check them out! Happy Friday everybody! Thank you for indulging me. I hope you have the most wonderful of weekends 🙂
Kristina says February 24, 2012 at 9:24 pm “Kristina, in Charleston do y’all talk about the tickle boxes?” Still makes me laugh. 🙂 I’m totally a closet introvert too. In fact, I describe myself as an ambivert. Happy alone or with people. And I seriously crave alone time. I read THE best book this week–THE HISTORY OF LOVE by Nicole Krauss. It’s not fantasy or YA, but it is mind-blowingly amazing. You need to check it out! Reply
