UncategorizedHaven Conference and a God Thing May 11, 2013I mentioned here that I’ll be attending the Allume conference in October. So excited for that! But before I signed up for or really heard about Allume, I tried to buy tickets to the Haven Conference…and they were sold out. Have y’all heard of it? It’s huge! Here are just a few of this year’s great speakers: John and Sherry of Young House Love Cassidy of Remodelaholic Erika of BluLabel Bungalow Katie of Bower Power Beyond these great speakers, I love the idea behind Haven. Yes, we all love interior design and DIY, but as I said in my About Page, it’s bigger than that. Our goal is to create a haven and a refuge for our family to blossom and grow. I love the design piece, but that’s not the whole picture. So…I was devastated that this awesome conference was sold out. Well, my friend Angie of Angie’s Roost e-mailed me a link to Thrifty Decor Chick, who was talking about Haven some tickets being given away. In that post, Sarah also mentioned that you could go to the Haven Facebook page and someone might be willing to sell you tickets. As someone who was desperately excited to go to this conference, what did I do? I went to the Facebook page and immediately said, “I’m dying for a ticket if anyone is selling!” Within minutes, ange of The Blooming Hydrangea had messaged me willing to sell me her ticket. So, I AM GOING TO HAVEN!!!! And I am so excited. Is that the God thing I mentioned in the title? Nope. Though that’s really exciting, that’s not it. So, after we confirmed that I would buy ange’s ticket and be headed to Haven, we kept chatting. She mentioned that the reason she is selling is because her family is most likely moving this summer when the conference is being held. Guess where they’re possibly moving? Greenville, SC. Yep, crazy small world. And that’s not it… She went on to say that they’re currently l0oking for an IT job for her husband in the area. Our church just happens to have a job database where they put people together to post jobs and get jobs. I mentioned it to her and she’s sending me his resume to put in there. I love when God orchestrates things like that. It’s always bigger than we imagine. Yes, I’m going to Haven now. Yes, I connected with another design blogger who will possibly be in Greenville. Yes, I’m going to do what I can to help get her husband a job. And yes, I have a new friend who understands the blogging world and we connect on faith. Love days like this that remind me that God is the great orchestrater of all things! He always provides and comes through for us in ways beyond anything we ever dreamed. The only bad part? I won’t get to meet and see her at Haven.
