Home DecorFinding Fall Home Tour – Neutral and Natural September 17, 2014 Welcome to the first glimpse of our fall home tour, y’all! If you’re headed over here from Uncommon Designs, welcome! I am so happy you’re here. Fall is my thing and making our home feel warm and cozy for the season is one of my very favorite things. So, when Laura from Finding Home asked me to join in on the Finding Fall Tour with Better Homes and Gardens, I was so excited and honored! Here’s how it works: there are four days of amazing tours from talented bloggers across the web. If you’ve missed any, here’s the start of the tour. It will take you through all lovely homes! And then on Friday, we’ll all be inspired by BHG.com. I am so excited about something new that they’re offering – 100 Days of Holidays. You can sign up here and continue being inspired for this holiday season! Onto the beginning of fall at our little downtown cottage. My goal was Neutral and Natural. I was hoping for a big more neutral hues than my usual layered color. I have to make myself wait to start on fall things until after Labor Day. I love it and crave it all summer, but my “fallifying” of this little home of ours is just getting started. Let’s start in the kitchen, the heart of our home, shall we? I still love our bright, white kitchen and it’s country rustic touches. The orange of sweet little pumpkins look even better against white, in my book. Though it makes a home a bit harder to photograph, I sure do love our open floor plan. I love that we can entertain and everyone be together. I’ve made some major changes in our house recently and I’ll be sharing specific details soon, but for now, here’s our current living room. That new rug sure is bringing a smile to my face. I love that it still works with my Rag Rug covered ottoman. And our dough bowl coffee table pops a bit more off the lighter tones. Our DIY Built-ins got a major face-lift from their last styling post. As I said, I was craving neutral this time around. I love books, but all of their colored backs and titles were getting to me. After turning them around and adding a few natural style elements, it feels brighter, but also fall cozy. The last room on today’s little tour got a major facelift recently. You can check out what the dining room used to look like here. But I am loving this transformation. I’ll be sharing a full reveal later complete with why we made the change and a source list, but for now, let’s just enjoy the pretty, shall we? Who’s ready for some fall entertaining? I know I am! Thank you so much for stopping by my fall home! If you’re new to The White Buffalo, you can check out our complete home tour here. Make sure to click over and see our other DIY projects! Lindsay says September 22, 2014 at 11:12 am Thank you, Krista! It’s one of my favorite finds ever! I got it on eBay. They have really great old kilim and persian ones and if you watch, you can find them for semi-reasonable prices! This one is 3×10 and I got it for $200! I love finding even cheaper rugs than that, but it was so perfect for the space 🙂 Reply

Lindsay says October 7, 2014 at 2:21 pm Hi Christina! The rug is from eBay! I’ve searched around and I really think they have the best selection of old kilims and persians for a decent price. The tough part is you have to wait and watch for just the right one. The good thing is, you’re getting a one of a kind! Reply
