UncategorizedTrend Spotting: The Fiddle Leaf Fig March 27, 2013 {via} I’ve read about Fiddle Leaf Figs for a while now. Everyone seems to love them. At first, I was like, it’s just a plant, what’s the big deal? But now, I see the hype. I must admit, I love them. They make such a statement! {via} As I said recently, I want to bring in a lot more house plants in this new house. They bring such life into a room. I immediately wanted a Fiddle Leaf Fig and started doing a little research. {via} Do y’all know how expensive those can be??? Like $100-$200 expensive. Not that we have that kind of money sitting around to buy a house plant anyway, but I can’t justify spending it on something that I can kill. I mean, that would buy me a chair! Well, when I was at IKEA on Sunday, I happened to stumble across this. 10″ Fiddle Leaf Figs…for $12.99!!! Small I know, but they’ll grow. That’s what plants do, right? I was so happy! But here’s the worst part…I didn’t buy it. I know. Ever since Sunday, I’ve been banging my fist against my head saying, “Stupid, stupid, stupid!” Oh well. I was riding back with girlfriends and the sink I had to buy was already going to take up nearly the whole car. And hubby and I are actually headed back in two weeks. That trip was already planned. We just realized we needed the sink sooner than we originally thought and I was near one. I never turn down an opportunity to go to IKEA! So, if y’all are near an IKEA and share my love of the dear Fiddle Leaf, go purchase now! Do not second guess like I did. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go buy a Fiddle Leaf! I’m praying there’s some there when we go back next weekend… Stupid, stupid, stupid, I tell you! To soothe my depression over this grave design mistake, I’m headed out for a little thrifting. Hoping to find some amazingness that I’m picturing to convert into light fixtures. You know I’ll share if I do!
