Faith & FamilyOur Fall Family Lifestyle Shoot September 28, 2016Our life is full. It’s full of messes, spilled applesauce, scattered toys, and sniffles. It’s full of pajama days, bath splashes, and wanting more sleep. It’s also full of snaggle-tooth smiles, the sweetest little kisses, and the softest voice asking for mama and daddy. It isn’t perfect. It never is. But it is just so full of all that really matters. Having this fall lifestyle shoot done with my super talented friend, Sophie Brendle, was the most amazing experience. We now have some treasured real-life memories and moments captured to save forever. We’ll always be able to look back and remember how our sweet Rosie pulled one sleeve off every time she was tired because it was her security blanket. We’ll remember her favorite snack. We’ll remember those sweet, chunky legs and her tongue-out smile. We’ll remember how much she liked to cuddle up and read, how goofy she could get, and how we lived in this house as a family right at this time. I cherish these, y’all. And I just had to share because this reminds me of what this blog and life is all about. The focus isn’t new pillows or pretty rooms. The main point of all this isn’t renovating new kitchens, even though that’s really fun. It’s raising your babies the best you can and teaching them to love God and love people. It’s seeing the joy and sunlight in every moment because you know it’s there…you just have to look. It’s living each day with intention. And that’s why I do what I do. I love creating spaces and special memories for this family I’ve been entrusted with. They’re my people. And using my God-given gifts to make their lives a little sweeter is one of my greatest joys. I’m not going to do little descriptions for all of these because they don’t need it. They’re our life being lived out. Sophie didn’t give us direction for this. We just played and hung out in our home and she captured it in the most beautiful way. Welcome to a glimpse into our little world. After seeing these, we’re definitely going to do this at Christmas when the house is all festive! And I’m hoping to get Gracie in more next time. She isn’t the best picture taker and usually gets right up at the camera lens and sniffs…sweet, crazy girl. But I’m glad to have even these few of us with her and she and Rosie playing like they do all day. Man, it was a challenge to edit down what to share here! We have about 200 amazing photos that I’ll cherish forever and will for sure be framed somewhere and put in photo books! If any of you are local, go book a lifestyle shoot with Sophie. Her style and eye is so amazing and unique, but she is such a joy to be around. And I can guarantee you, you’ll have the most special keepsake! If you aren’t local, find a good photographer do a fun lifestyle shot of your family living in your home with snippets of real-life thrown in! I’m just so grateful to have this to remember our sweet Rosie at this age. *** Thatβs been The White Buffalo motto for the last three years and is still what Iβm striving to do each day in our home and with our family. Yes, that often means tablescapes, inspiring interiors, and fun before and after renos. But it also means family. Faith. Joy. Struggles. Laughter. Health. You’ll find a little bit of all of that here as I share how we’re choosing to live with both style and purpose. A huge part of that is our journey toward a more natural life that’s focused on enjoying each and every moment together. A huge thanks to my main blog sponsor that makes this dream of mine possible:
Monica says September 28, 2016 at 2:01 pm These are beautiful!! We have some that are similar because I beg my guys every year for a Christmas card photoshoot. Really I’m just trying to capture us as a family in the stage we are in right this moment. I have some of them hanging on my office cube walls and they mean the world to me! Rosie is so cute and sweet! I loved the ones of her and Gracie! Reply
Lindsay says September 29, 2016 at 7:10 pm Yes, so amazing! Monica, it’s the best. I’m sold now on this. Sadly, these are the first professional shots we’ve done since Rosie was born. We take so many photos ourselves and have gotten some good ones of her especially considering the blog, but man, I am totally going to do this going forward! Reply

Lindsay says September 29, 2016 at 7:06 pm Adina, yes!! It’s an eBay score π I am going to post about it soon though. I just needed a different size for the space after living with it and fell in love with this one and its colors! Reply

shar y says September 29, 2016 at 11:34 am These are wonderful! So precious. I would have to clean up my house (a lot) to do a lifestyle shoot!! Reply
Lindsay says September 29, 2016 at 7:09 pm Hahahahahaha, it’s so nice to have! I did clean for sure. But I left a lot of toys and books out in the playroom because that’s really how it always looks. And I love remembering it that way! I wish we’d done this so badly in our last houses to have to remember π Reply
