UncategorizedCustom Nursery Linens from Suite Baby March 9, 2015 When planning our nursery design, I just couldn’t find bedding and linens that I liked. I really wanted some pretty prints and colors and wasn’t pleased with anything I was coming across at a traditional big box store. So, I did what I usually do when looking for something unique: took to Etsy! I came across a great baby bedding shop. Suite Baby specializes in custom baby bedding. While they have a lot of great collections and fabric options in their Etsy shop, the custom experience they offer goes way beyond that. I reached out to them with some questions and found out that the options are endless! You can give them a specific theme. They will source the fabric for you and create a custom bedding package that is completely unique to you and your little one’s nursery. They’re also in the process now of creating completely custom fabric that can be printed for your nursery. Beyond the great options, they are amazing to work with! The owner, Courtney, is so kind and really helped me choose the best options for our little ones nursery. Once I chose the floral fabric for the curtains, I knew that I wanted to add some mixed prints. I was looking for some geometric prints in coordinating colors to balance the girly floral. When mixing patterns, I always like to choose straight lines mixed with curves. I think it’s more pleasing to the eye. I came across this fabric collection in her Etsy shop and could just picture some of these prints with my curtains. It had my original color scheme of peach, mint, and navy that I was still trying to pull out of the curtain print. All of the collections on her site are customizeable. So, you choose which fabric you’d like each product made in. You can purchase a full bedding set (at an incredibly reasonable price for a custom, handmade set). But, with my mid-century crib style, I didn’t really want a skirt or bumpers. I decided to stick with just a crib sheet in a great print. I was first drawn to this lovely gold and cream geometric fabric. I thought it would bring great pattern to the crib without being too overwhelming. I also loved the mint with gold and white triangles. It met my goal of being geometric to mix with the curtains and I loved the colors and the subtlety of it. I immediately pictured it against the kilim wall. While I love mixing colors and patterns, I also love a monochromatic color scheme with varying patterns and shades, so this worked to me. I love how these fabrics all seem so different, but really work together beautifully. I love the mix. I fell in love with the peach floraly print in that collections. I knew it wasn’t right (mixed with curtains) for a major nursery item like the sheet, but I thought it would be perfect on a blanket! I am so in love with the colors of this sweet print. It’s a minky blanket, so it has the soft fleecy fabric on the back and is really cozy. There are so many color choices for the minky “backing,” but I stuck with cream. This blanket goes everywhere with us. It’s the perfect size (she offers two size options – I chose small) to tuck around her in the car seat or stroller. We never leave home without it, and in fact, it travels around the house with us wherever she is. I love, love, love this blanket 🙂 And the last Suite Baby item I chose is a custom Boppy cover. Everyone I talked to recommended that we get a Boppy. We registered for one and got it, but I just was not loving the cover prints that I was seeing. There was nothing wrong with them, but y’all know I love statement fabrics and these were just lacking. Plus, there aren’t that many choices out there. Suite Baby makes a Boppy cover in ANY FABRIC YOU CHOOSE. Seriously. There are so many options. Drab Boppys no more! I chose this tribal with a mint background and lots of peach, gold, and navy. It’s pretty and has personality, but it’s really functional. It has a nice zipper, making removal and washing really easy. All of these products are made extremely well. I love that you can have a completely custom look without compromising on quality. Suite Baby has so many fabric collections and options, but here are a few more of my favorites. It was seriously hard to choose, there are so many I love! How fun is that? I would even use some of those fabrics for Rosie’s nursery, not just for little guys. So sweet for a little boho baby. And now I’m kind of sad because I wish I could use like ten more fabrics in little one’s room! Hop on over to Suite Baby and check out all of their amazing collections. And don’t forget that you can request a custom theme! While I found fabrics I loved on her site, that option is what really sold me on using them. Suite Baby also offers throw pillows and I am strongly considering ordering some in a lot of these fabrics for other rooms in our house. Who says it has to be for a nursery?
