Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours – Fall 2014

mums-and-pumpkins

I’m so happy to kick off my favorite season with some serious fall inspiration.  It is officially fall and in celebration, we’ve got 41 homes decked out for fall!  {links to the entire tour at the bottom of the post}.

BSHT Fall 2014

In the fall, I love to drive through neighborhoods and see the front doors surrounded with mums and pumpkins.

Fall front Door

To me, nothing is prettier than simple mums and pumpkins gathered.

Outdoor Fall Decorating

I wanted a fresh spin on a fall wreath and went with a simple Dream Catcher inspired version.

Dream Catcher Inspired Wreath

Pheasant feathers and fringe gives fall a boho touch at our house.  I love that you step right in our front door to The Lounge and a view of the mantel.

Fall Mantel Inspiration

As I posted about recently, I was craving a simplified fall this year.  I wanted more neutrals and room to let my decor breathe.  The big antlers and sign came from The World’s Longest Yardsale and the vintage painting came from a thrift store.

Fall Mantel

For some texture, I made some DIY Yarn Garlands to stretch across the antlers and drape along the mantel.

DIY Yarn Garlands

It’s subtle, but I love what they add!

To really let the mantel shine, I left the sitting area very neutral.  My Eames-style chairs got layered with a sheepskin and a white pillow with gold and silver metallic flecks.  The weathered milk can brings a little history with the white and modern pieces.

I re-styled the barn wood desk that Chris made right inside the front door as an entry rather than a desk since I have my office now.  I had the best time setting it up for fall.

Fall Entryway

Green heirloom pumpkins are my favorite and they pick up the green tones in the lampshades beautifully.  And they look great against the wood desk, I think.

Fall Decorating

I recently found the vintage painting at a thrift store for $10!  I love the color scheme in this little area.

Yarn for Fall Decor

Spools of yarn make great fall decor!  I had them left over from the Yarn Garlands and thought they looked so pretty in their little spools.  The wooden bowl corrals them and gives them an overall statement.

Even the mudroom got some fall sprucing.

Fall Mudroom

I was growing a little tired of the purple kilim bench and wanted some different colors for the fall tour.  I folded and laid this old family quilt over it and it immediately feels re-covered for free and in a matter of minutes.

The little mudroom shelf is just perfect for a little seasonal spirit.

Fall decorating details

If you missed last week’s first peek at my fall tour, here’s a little recap.

Our living room got a new rug, new pillows, and I am loving it!

Eclectic Living Room

The kitchen island has such a great surface for working and decorating.  I love having room for both!

Country White Kitchen

And the dining room got a whole new facelift in some rustic neutrals and rich fall colors.

OMG I love everything! Your front porch looks amazing and I love your new(?) lamps and the lampshades are perfect. So lovely and simple! Definitely what I’m in the mood for too!

Thanks so much Kelly! Those boots are from Target!!! So cute and cheap and look way more high-end than they are. You should get them! And thanks for your sweet words about my tour!

Always LOVE your style, but this is my favorite looks in your rooms this fall! So comfy, cozy ….pregnancy nesting is a great thing! πŸ™‚ ~ Kim

Hi Kelly! It’s actually an outdoor lantern we found on clearance at TJMaxx! Then, we used a pendant kit to turn it into an actual light fixture! It was super easy, cheap, and I LOVE the result πŸ™‚

Linds- Every detail is so beautiful! You have such a knack for making natural, understated vignettes look so welcoming and festive at the same time. Amazing πŸ™‚

Thank you, Mallory! I usually tend toward tons of accessories and go overboard (or atleast close to it), but this year I really was craving a simpler fall in our home.

Absolutely, Emilee! It’s from Old Navy. I got it on clearance a couple of years ago, so I know it wouldn’t be available, but I know there are tons of bags like that out right now! That kind of print is so huge! Etsy has a great selection and so does Target!

I love the wood desk area with the light lamps and darker shades. Exactly what I wanted to try for fall in my hearthroom. Also love the cotton detail! πŸ™‚ I also love the ottoman cover! Thanks for sharing!

I love your house! It’s so lovely and inspiring I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog πŸ™‚ (.. I forget how I did at this point, maybe a link party?) Anyways— I love your eclectic look. I have similar furnishings and slowing adding the wall decor/finishing up the kitchen remodel that flows between our two sitting rooms & dining room. I’m excited to have your pics as a reference! Looking forward to following you girl.

I love your style, everything just works so well together. I’ve been seeing a lot of those green pumpkins in your blog tour but have never seen them in person!
