Faith & FamilyBHG I Did It! August 20, 2015It’s been a whirlwind of a year for this blog. With having Rosie and having to figure out how to fit work in, then starting a whirlwind renovation, and now going back to some branding stuff behind the scenes I was working on before Rosie came, IT’S BEEN BUSY. But this first full-time blogging year has been the busiest so far, it’s also been the most exciting in so many ways! Since before I started the blog, I dreamed of being featured in Better Homes and Gardens. Once I started it, it became a very real dream. This blog year has been marked by two BHG features now and I couldn’t be more honored and stunned! You can read about the first here when I was featured as the “Blog We Love” last April. And the other came out this week! It’s an unreal feeling to see all the planning and hours upon hours of work culminate in something like this. This planner is hardworking over here, so it felt fitting for it to get a shot with this pretty “reward” for all of the hard work. I know some of you have seen it. Thanks for the social media shout outs! But in case you haven’t, we’re featured on the back “I did it” page with our exterior before and after (you can read all about that here). While this feature is a dream come true, the coolest part about it is seeing things come full circle. My husband, Chris, and I fell in love with renovating and design early in our marriage. It’s become such a part of our adventure and the vision that we have for our family. And here little Miss Rosie is at barely two months old in her very first BHG magazine feature. It’s just feels “right” to have her here because by being in this family, all of this blog/design/renovating stuff is going to be a big part of her life. She’s starting out strong. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of you and you following along on this journey! I feel so honored to have you. There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes right now to make The White Buffalo even better and continue bringing you great content – 2015 still has a lot up it’s sleeve and I can’t wait! Stay tuned, friends ๐ This issue is also the Stylemaker issue with some amazing homes featured! If you haven’t gotten your copy, it’s on stands until mid-September, so make sure you grab one and check it out! *** If you’re new here, there are a lot of exciting things happening! You can check out our full home tour here. To follow our renovation journey every step of the way, make sure you subscribe to posts! They come straight to your inbox when posted. And you can catch up on any renovation updates you missed by clicking below. While we love our little cottage, this family is moving on! We’re renovating a sweet little bungalow just down the street called The Buffalo Bungalow.

Carol says September 1, 2015 at 11:06 am Your house is so cute. I just read the feature about you in BHG and had to check you out. Please tell me where I can find the instructions on how to make those shutters. I actually had ordered some and was less than thrilled with the quality when they arrived. Making my own seems the perfect answer. Thank you! Reply
Lindsay says September 3, 2015 at 3:10 pm Hi Carol! Thank you so much! We didn’t do an actual tutorial, but they’re so simple! Choose your dimensions and cut three boards to fit that length. Then, nail a cross piece at top and bottom into each board to keep them together. Reply

adam4adamn login says March 14, 2017 at 4:31 am I do not know if it’s just me or if everybody else encountering problems with your website. It seems like some of the written text on your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too? This may be a issue with my browser because I’ve had this happen previously. Cheers Reply
Lindsay says March 14, 2017 at 7:30 pm HI Adam, no one else has mentioned this? Could it be the size of your screen? I know some are set to different defaults…so the site could look different to you? Be too zoomed in or too zoomed out? Reply
