Home DecorIt’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas November 10, 2014This is a sponsored post by Balsam Hill. All opinions are 100% my own. I’ve waited as long as I could to start decking our halls around here, but the time has come friends! That’s secretly one of my favorite parts about this job – Christmas comes early! If you want a little glimpse of where I’m headed with this year’s Christmas decorating, check out my inspiration piece seen in Friday’s post. I’ll be talking more about the overall direction I’m headed with this year’s decorating later this week, but today, I want to talk about greenery. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING says Christmas to me like greenery. I am usually a real-greenery kind of girl. I love the natural/organic feel and look, and the smell is a plus. But it does make a huge mess, it doesn’t always last the whole season, and you have to replace it every year! I’m sure some real greenery will still make it’s way into my Christmas decor, but I’m loving these real-looking faux greenery pieces I recently found. Balsam Hill has an amazing selection of greenery that looks real, y’all. It looked good on their screen, but when I got it in, it’s the real deal. getting to partner with them for our holiday decorating this year was like Christmas morning coming early for this gal! I’m so in love with this Fraser Fir Meadow Wreath. I wanted a big, lush, green wreath for our front door. I pictured a wreath pretty enough to go without bows or any added frills. I just love the look of plain greenery against our wood door and white house. I fell in love with this wreath! I love the realistic looking greenery, but the eucalyptus sprigs and berries really give it a pretty touch. I could just stand out here and look at it all day. Balsam Hill also carries a pretty garland that matches this. Wouldn’t that be beautiful draped cross a mantel? Speaking of mantels, I got a little dream of mine fulfilled with ours this year. Yes, that is a sneak peek of our new mantel and fireplace! We completed it for the Home Depot Holiday Challenge and I can’t wait to officially reveal it to you guys soon (once they share it). But that’s another dream for another day. I’m talking about that Magnolia Garland. I have loved magnolia leaves as Christmas decorations for sooo long. I’ve hunted high and low, but all of the garlands and wreaths I’ve found were out of my price range and didn’t look real. I’ve never had access to real ones – wouldn’t that be awesome! This garland looks real. So real. I want to leave it up all year! You can find this garland here. It’s amazing how a little greenery makes our house feel holiday ready! Now, I’m headed off to put up the tree and really make this place feel festive!
Sherry says November 11, 2014 at 6:43 am These are beautiful. But so out of my price range. I agree that beautiful greens are the absolute best for christmas… But living in central Alaska makes it almost impossible to use anything real outside. Even native spruce loses its needles quickly when cut from the tree…….. If I could afford these artificials I would do my cabin in them. Reply
Amber says November 13, 2014 at 10:07 am It does look real! I’m with you…if I can find a beautiful wreath and garland without having to add a bow, it’s a win in my book! Can’t wait to see the full reveal! Reply
