Home DecorBalsam Hill 12 Bloggers of Christmas November 22, 2016Yes, I know it’s two days until Thanksgiving, but y’all, I’ve held out as long as I could. I feel more excited for Christmas this year than I’ve ever been, so when Balsam Hill asked me to join in on this fun series, I couldn’t say no! I’m thrilled to be joining with 11 other bloggers to share how we decorate a Christmas tree in our own styles. I decided to go a little different route with my tree this year. While we usually do an artificial tree, they’ve always been the traditional green. I’ve fallen in love with flocked trees, but Chris likes green better than the full-on snowy look. When I came across this Frosted Sugar Pine, I knew it was the perfect compromise for us! While it’s definitely bright and snowier than our usual tree, it has a lot of green in it, which I love! Plus, this baby is 9′ tall and I love how it really makes a statement with our tall ceilings. I went a little outside of my normal colorful comfort zone with some mainly neutral ornaments and I do love how it looks in our space! I love how the metallic and blush tones play off of the colorful furnishings already in this room. I started our tree by draping some simple silver beads for a little glitz. Then, I used Balsam Hill’s French Country Ornament Set to fill in the tree. I loved this set as soon as it came in because of their beautiful shapes. They’re all so unique and really feel special. Some are silver and some are mercury glass with a hint of pink. What I love most about these neutral, special ornaments is that they’re great as a stand-alone color and tree scheme if you’re looking for a neutral, but gorgeous palette. But they also could work as the base of any color scheme, so they’re really versatile for years to come! I brought in some blush pink ornaments that I already had to fill in with them. Balsam Hill asked us to share one of our favorite and most special ornaments. While I have a family tree that we do in another area that has a lot of our special, memory-filled ornaments, I have some other favorites that usually get placed on this living room tree. When we were expecting Rosie, I bought this set of vintage pink Christmas ornaments from a local antique store. I loved their ribbon trim and detailing and they just felt so girly and special to me. Each year when I put them out, I think about that special Christmas when we were just a month away from adding our first babe and our family changing forever. There was so much joy and anticipation over what was to come and it made for the most special Christmas. I also got this set of Champagne Berry Picks for the tree because I knew they’d add so much dimension with the ornaments. Once they arrived, I decided that a special tree calls for an equally special mantel! I worked them into my cotton garland and I absolutely love how festive it is! While there is still plenty to do around here to have our home Christmas-ready, I’m just giddy seeing these festive touches around our living room! A huge thanks for Balsam Hill for asking me to participate in this year’s 12 Bloggers of Christmas! You can find links to all of the other 11 bloggers Christmas tree styles here.
