UncategorizedBaby Buffalo is a… August 7, 2014 GIRL!!! We recently found out that our sweet Baby Buffalo is a little girl. We couldn’t be happier! We were really excited about either option, but as soon as we heard a little girl was on the way, it just felt right. It’s amazing how knowing that a baby girl will be joining our family makes all of this so real. We’re so ready to start preparing for our little lady. As soon as we found out, Chris nicknamed her “The Little Lady.” He’s already so excited about being a daddy to a sweet little girl and it just warms my heart. We would love a big family and hope that there will be some boys and girls in the mix one day, but I have to admit, I’ve always dreamed of having a little girl. As soon as I found out she was coming, I already feel this insanely close bond with her. It feels like she’s already my little buddy. She already goes everywhere with me and I am dying for the day when I can hold her in my arms and officially meet her, though it feels like a part of me already knows her. That’s sappy, I know, and maybe even a little weird. But our little lady will be one loved little girl. We’ve already had fun buying a few things for her. This sweet little peacock chair is the perfect size to hold her favorite doll. I saw this at an antique store a week before we were supposed to found out for $3! I almost bought it, but I didn’t. It was so reasonable and I knew it might not be there if it was a girl and I needed to come back for it. But it somehow felt wrong to buy something obviously for a girl before we knew it was. It almost felt like that was what I was hoping for and I had this little tinge of betrayal for my son (if it was a boy). Silly, I know, but I didn’t buy it. When we found out it was a girl, I ran back to this store and it was still there! She’s meant to have it in her nursery. As soon as my parents heard it was a girl, they came across these sweet fringe moccasins. They already know this will be a little boho, hippie baby. We are having the best time gathering sweet girlie things, looking at little dresses, and planning out the nursery. I know I said that I was going to share a girl and boy nursery before I found out. That was the plan. I got the girl nursery board done before we found out and really ran out of time for the boy. I had planned to still put one together for y’all’s sakes, but after hearing that we were having a girl, I’ve lost steam on the boy front. For those mamas out there who might have boys on the way, I was really inspired by some of Lay Baby Lay’s rustic boy boards. I was going for rustic & woodland, with a little quirk thrown in. Some of my favorites are Joni’s Little Lone Ranger board, Woodland Wonder, and Bird Dog Baby. One day, if a little boy joins our family, I will definitely be creating a room something like these! Speaking of the nursery, we actually just left for our annual trip to The World’s Longest Yardsale! This is our first day out on the sale and my main goal is to find some unique, vintage, and lovely things for our girl’s nursery. I’ll be posting a lot of updates on Instagram and sharing some of my favorite finds! Make sure to follow along! In case you missed my girl nursery post, click here to see the plan and where I’m headed with her Rustic, Vintage, & Bohemian Nursery. And just for a little fun, here’s how we told our families. We didn’t have any of the cute girlie goods above and wanted to incorporate Gracie. It was taken and edited hastily with an iPhone, but Gracie is so excited. Can’t you tell? We’re pretty sure we know her name, but are dwelling on it just a little longer to be sure. Y’all know I’ll share it here, though, when we feel ready to say, “That’s who she is!” More on Baby Girl Buffalo to come…
