UncategorizedApple Picking October 11, 2012Hey guys! I know some of you noticed the blog was down yesterday…no worries, we are back up and running! No, I did not stop blogging and cancel the blog 🙂 We just had a little technical glitch and thankfully, we are back up and running quickly! This past weekend, we enjoyed a lovely fall day out with friends. Have y’all been apple picking? We’ve gone the past two years and this is definitely going to be a tradition for us. If you live in the SC, NC, GA area, you might know about Sky Top Orchard. We had heard about it for a while and last year, we finally went. It’s this wonderful apple orchard perched on top of a mountain in Hendersonville, NC. From the orchards, you can see gorgeous views of mountains for miles around. It really is breathtaking. We went with our good friends from church, Blake and Leslie. We picked lots and lots of apples… …and came home with a basketfull. My favorite kind were the Arkansas Blacks. We might’ve sampled some of each kind while picking (even though you aren’t really supposed to do that). But the best part was the Apple Cider Slushies and the Apple Cider Doughnuts. Seriously, I would just go for these two things. I think I’m going to make a caramel apple pie this weekend with our loot. I can’t wait! So if y’all are in the area, you’ve got to visit Sky Top. Even if you aren’t, find an orchard near you and hit the road! It really was such a fun way to celebrate this lovely fall season. With the Etsy shop up and going, I’ve finally gotten around to falling up more of our house. I’ll be back with that soon!
