UncategorizedA New Friend and Some Design Advice May 1, 2012I recently met a new blog friend. That is my favorite thing about this blog and reading blogs – I love the opportunities that it creates to meet new friends and connect with some awesome people! A few weeks ago, Samantha from Connecticut e-mailed me with some design questions. She loves neutrals (as do I) and the bones of her house are neutral, but she wants to add in some pop and some color. I am definitely no expert on this, but I do love design and redesigning, so I wanted to do my best to give her some advice. Samantha sent me some pictures of her open floor plan home. I’m going to share those with you today and her concerns. Tomorrow, I’ll have some advice and sources for her and for all of us. Figuring out some ideas for her has taught me a lot already! So here’s the living room Samatha is working with… Can you say character? I’m loving the white board and batten with Chelsea Gray walls. Very Cape Cod like. This house has such great bones. Here’s her dining and kitchen areas. You really get the open floor plan with this photo…this dining area is open to the living room. And here is her foyer area… Seriously, such a great house, right? So much to work with and I really feel honored that Samantha asked me for advice. She likes traditional, but wants to add in modern while also making this open floor plan house flow. That can be tough, but is so important! I’ve been working for a while building up some ideas and I can’t wait to share them tomorrow. Thanks so much, Samantha, for the design request 🙂
